The Buriram Provincial Health Office was notified that the 46-year-old man arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 9am on March 19 before travelling to Pattaya.

He rented a car on March 20 and travelled to Buriram to visit his wife. On March 22, he and his wife visited public places, breaching the social distancing measure to prevent Covid-19 from spreading.

Officials have approached the man to trace the places he visited and warned him that he would be prosecuted if he did not follow the law.

Buriram Governor Tatchakorn Hatthathayakul said that to avoid a similar case again, the headman of each district and village must monitor every person who travels to the central region and order them to be quarantined for 14 days.
