The Thai currency is expected to move between 31.20 and 31.40, said Jitipol Puksamatanan, head of Markets Strategy at SCB Securities.

On Tuesday night, the S&P 500 fell by 0.8 per cent, while the US Ten-Year Treasury returned to 0.82 per cent, decreasing by 5.3 basis points. Meanwhile, gold price recovered by 1 per cent, to $1,715 per ounce.

In the financial markets, the yen strengthened by 0.7 per cent, while the euro was $1.13 to the euro.

The contraction of commodities’ price weakened the Australian and New Zealand dollar by around 0.7 and 0.8 per cent respectively last night.

In Thailand, the baht in the short term has strengthened longer than other regional currencies, due to purchases by foreign commercial banks and the weakening of the dollar. On Wednesday morning, the baht showed slight weakness from the selling before the US Fed meeting.
