The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index opened today (June 29) at 1,323.84, drop 6.5 points, or -0.49% per cent, from Friday’s close.

A Krungsri Securities stock analyst predicted today that the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index would move between 1,300 to 1,310 points amid investor concern over a Covid-19 second wave, especially in the United States, which is forcing the Texas and Florida governments to lock down some businesses.

There is also concern after Beijing warned Washington not to interfere in the situation between China and Taiwan, otherwise it may not purchase US agricultural products under a trade agreement.

The analyst expected the index to rebound in line with stock “window dressing” in the second quarter, as well as the purchasing of super savings funds extra (SSFX).

He advised investors to buy stocks which are categorised under the SET50 and SET100, for instance, BPP, TTW, Ace, DoHome, RBF, SIRI, SISB, TVO, and WhaUp, as well as stocks in companies expected to witness growth in the second quarter, such as CKP, Tasco, STA, RS, Mint, Centel, ERW and AOT.
