Some countries in the world could contain the COVID-19 and it is not concerned with whether the country is rich or poor, but it is solely concerned with the people following the rules and regulation, says State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi in her televised speech to the public on October 2.
“When we look at the international situation on COVID-19, some countries suffered from the virus. It is the second wave but some estimated that it is the third wave. In some countries, in the second wave, they can contain the virus. The reason they can control the virus is not concerned with whether the country is rich or poor. It concerns the people who abide by the rules and regulations of COVID-19,” said State Counsellor AUng San Suu Kyi.
The best and the simplest way to contain the virus is to avoid the public and abide by the social distancing rule, she continued.
If not necessary, don’t go out and don’t receive visitors. I have said these earlier. In unavoidable situations, when you go out, wear masks, gloves. When arriving home, wash your hands for 20 seconds, she added.
Among those with symptoms and come to receive a test for COVID-19 tested positive is 23.6 percent, close contact people showed 18.9 percent and local transmission rate showed 1.8 percent. The government has bought more than 400,000 test kits from South Korea and they have been used in Yangon Region since September 29.
