Gold price rises

The price of gold rose by Bt50 per baht weight in morning trade on Wednesday, the Gold Traders Association reported.
As of 9.21am, the buying price of a gold bar was Bt28,100 per baht weight and selling price Bt28,200, while gold ornaments were priced at Bt27,591.20 and Bt28,700, respectively.
The spot gold price moved to US$1,907 (Bt59,507) per ounce in the morning, after the price rose by $6.20 to $1,911.90 per ounce at close on Tuesday. This came after investors purchased more of the safe-haven asset as the US consumer confidence index decreased over Covid-19 worries.
The Hong Kong gold price meanwhile rose to HK$17,640 (Bt70,990) per tael.
