Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said construction of the new parliamentary building would not be finished before next year’s election after receiving a report from the Interior Ministry at a Cabinet meeting yesterday.
The premier said the work was only 10 per cent complete because of problems concerning building delays, the land hand-over and other issues. The problems are now being investigated, he added.
“There might be a problem, but we have tried our best to get the work done. Some deals and regulations have been amended already to facilitate the work,” Prayut said.
