“We will update all that we have done for the public,” Prayut said, adding media members would be allowed to direct queries.

The work that could not be finished during the NCPO’s time in office would likely be forwarded to the next government, and people should follow up on this, the premier said.

Prayut said he did not want to make enemies, but his work often put him on a collision course with many people.

Prayut said the government has done a number of projects but some people might not be satisfied with all the projects.

Even though there may has been some opposition from some people, Prayut said he had to get it done.

“Work requires planning. It’s not that [we] do whatever people like,” he said.

Regarding the August referendum, the PM said he had instructed security officials to take care of and ensure peace and order.

The prime minister said he would not bow to pressure. He would rather take legal action against those violating laws despite being hated by the public.

If people do not like this charter draft, they could reject it, and the process would start all over again, he added.

“But should I resign because of that failure? I just work for the country and it’s actually not my business at all. By saying this, I don’t mean to imply that I will stay longer. But if you want to reject a draft, you should give justified reasons as to the reasons.”
