The National University of Singapore (NUS) is still at the top spot with 100 points, followed closely by the University of Hong Kong with 98.5 points. Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, meanwhile, rose by one place to finish third with 98.4 points.
QS said the scores were based on nine indicators: academic reputation (30 per cent), employer reputation (20 per cent), faculty/student ratio (15 per cent), citations per paper (10 per cent), papers per faculty (10 per cent), staff with PhDs (5 per cent), proportion of international faculty (2.5 per cent) and proportion of international students (2.5 per cent), proportion of inbound exchange students (2.5 per cent), and proportion of outbound exchange students (2.5 per cent).
QS has expanded the top Asian universities list to include the region’s 350 best universities, 50 more than in the previous year. It has also added another metric – PhD holders among staff – to add another dimension to its analyses.
