The sterilised mosquitoes can control mosquito population, as they will abort the female mosquito’s ability to reproduce, thus preventing the outbreak of mosquitoborne diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, and zika.

The sterilised mosquitos, which developed by Mahidol University, are ready to set free to control the mosquito population in the first trial on open environment at Ban Nongsatit School in Chachoengsao yesterday.
