The Technology Crime Suppression Division decided to drop the detention request filed with the military court after police chose not to pursue charges of lese majeste and computer crime against her, the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights said.

Patnaree was accused of failing to stop a man from posting messages deemed offensive to the monarchy on her Facebook page. After being charged she was released on bail.

The lawyers’ organisation said on its website yesterday that police would, according to legal procedures, file their opinions on the case to the prosecutor, who would then decide whether charges should be pressed against Patnaree or if they should be dropped.
