After attending a two-hour meeting with investigators at Phaholyothin Police Station, Adul said officers were going to apply for more arrest warrants.

He said the team had gathered up to 90 per cent of the evidence relevant to the case, but he refused to elaborate on how many applicants and suspects were involved.

He only said the public should wait for the official exam result announcement later this week, as police would have a clearer idea about who all of the perpetrators were.

“Rest assured that, police, we will do the best we can to punish those involved without exception,” he said.

Cases of cheating in police entrance tests were detected at the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB), plus Provincial Police Regions 1 and 7.

Inquiries are continuing, but a fact-finding panel has recommended that the national police chief cancel the test results of those found culpable.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 51 university students who were hired to show answers to applicants for posts at the MPB. Bangkok Thesakij regulation enforcement officer Jiraphot Plaidoung, who confessed to arranging the service, faces charges of racketeering, providing false information to police and violating the Computer Crime Act’s Article 14(2).
