Ombudsman’s Office secretary-general Rakkecha Chaechai said the board yesterday decided to send a letter to Sanit asking if he had actually held a position as ThaiBev’s adviser, if he received a payment for advisory work, if he currently continued to receive such a payment and if he had yet resigned from the post.

ThaiBev would also be sent a letter requesting information.

A third letter would be sent to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) for information on Sanit’s asset declaration list, to confirm if he included the ThaiBev payment in his list to the NACC.

Rakkecha said that the office would decide on its next course of action after it received the information. He added that the agency wanted to clear all outstanding matters before the new constitution comes into effect.

The advisory payment was revealed in Sanit’s declaration of assets to the NACC, which includes all new National Legislative Assembly members.
