Citizens are volunteering for training so they can make wooden replicas of the Siam tulip (Cercuma alismatifolia Gagnep) for which the province is well known, particularly Thep Sathit district’s Pahinngam National Park.

People in every district are taking part in the tribute. In Ban Khao district, each village is aiming to produce 2,000 flowers.

Chaiyaphum Governor Chusak Trisan has also urged residents to grow marigolds and other yellow flowers, timing their blossoming for October, as a symbolic final farewell to the beloved monarch. Yellow is the colour most associated with the late King.

Places have been designated in each of the province’s 16 districts where people can display the sandalwood flowers from October 25-29.
