The tourists and their guides were then told by local officials to walk to the other side of the Miang island where they boarded rubber boats and punts taking them to the speed boats.

It took one hour for the rubber boats and punts to make it to the speed boats and that all tourists were safe, said Ruamsil Manachongprasert, head of Similan Islands National Park.
