Chart Pattana ‘sacrifices’ Tewan to pave way for Cabinet reshuffle

Chart Pattana Party resolved on Monday (July 20) that its leader Tewan Liptapanlop step down from his post as Prime Minister’s Office minister, so the prime minister can reshuffle the Cabinet freely and without any worries.

The resignation goes into effect on Tuesday.

Suwat Liptapanlop, chair of the party’s advisory committee, said the party had decided to make this sacrifice for the sake of the country, so skilled people can be put in top positions and help the nation move forward.

Tewan, meanwhile, said he was complying with the party’s decision and denied knowledge of rumours that his post will be handed to government spokesperson Narumon Pinyosinwat.

As coalition member, Chart Pattana Party has the quota of one Cabinet post.
