At its weekly meeting on Tuesday, the Cabinet approved a scheme to help cabbies and motorbike taxi drivers above the age of 65 who have been affected by Covid-19 lockdowns.

Abudget of 166.94 million baht has been earmarked for the project, which should be implemented in two months.

Those eligible will get a compensation of 10,000 baht each paid in instalments of 5,000 baht over two months.
