Air quality in eight districts around Bangkok and its vicinity hit unsafe levels on Wednesday morning, the Centre for Air Pollution Mitigation reported.

PM2.5 (particles less than 2.5 micrometres in diameter) readings were in the range of 29-61 micrograms per cubic metre (μg/m3). Thailand’s standard for safe levels of PM2.5 is 50 μg/m3 or lower.

Eight districts are Nong Khaem (61 μg/m3), Khlong Sam Wa (54 μg/m3), Phasi Charoen (53 μg/m3), Pom Prap Sattru Phai (52 μg/m3), Taling Chan (52 μg/m3), Bangkok Yai (51 μg/m3), Thawi Watthana (51 μg/m3) and Bang Bon (51 μg/m3).

The PM2.5 situation can be followed on Air4Thai.com and bangkokairquality.com websites, CAPM Facebook page, or via Air4Thai and AirBKK smartphone applications.
