French ambassador and EU envoys pursue nature trail at Khao Yai National Park

Deputy Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Prakit Wongsrivattanakul welcomed Thierry Mathou, France’s ambassador to Thailand, European Union ambassadors, as well as French and Thai researchers.

Khao Yai National Park is Thailand’s first national park with global and regional importance. It has been named a World Heritage Site and Asean Heritage Park, and covers four provinces – Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok.

The national park gains its importance from its enormous biodiversity. Many endangered species, including more than 280 bird species, are found in the park, making it popular with bird watchers from around the world.
