Roads in Ramkhamhaeng, eastern Bangkok, were heavily flooded on Thursday after monsoon showers battered the capital for several hours the previous night.

City residents were forced to travel through inundated streets and clogged traffic to reach offices and schools. Floodwaters submerged many areas even at noon, when rains came down again in the capital, much to the exasperation of residents.
