Bottlenose dolphin rescued from Samut Prakarn canal

Officers from the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources officers on Sunday rescued a bottlenose dolphin floating in the Klongdan irrigation canal in Samut Prakarn province.

The dolphin has been taken to the Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Centre in Tha Sa-An subdistrict of Chachoengsao province for a health examination.

“Officers and volunteers have been instructed to take care of the bottlenose dolphin,” the department said.

The department added that they have prepared a backup plan to move the dolphin to the Eastern Marine Fisheries Research and Development Centre in Koh Mun Nai in Rayong province.
