Skateboarding appears to have become popular among both youngsters and adults in Bangkok recently, and the reasons for this are:

• Covid-related restrictions are forcing people to find new hobbies, and

• Being influenced by celebrities or social-media influencers.

Though skateboarding has health benefits, this craze is expected to be short-lived because Bangkok’s footpaths are not smooth enough to make the experience enjoyable.
