Mother claims two of her autistic daughters were raped
The mother of three autistic daughters in Buri Ram province said two of her daughters had been raped and the suspects had got away scot-free.
The mother of one suspect, however, has denied that her son raped the autistic woman in Buri Ram province two years ago, after locals in Satuek district raised the case on Thursday.
The victim, now 26, belongs to a family in which the father and his three daughters are autistic.
According to the victim’s mother, her eldest daughter was raped by a cousin during preparations for his ordination ceremony in 2019. At that time, the mothet said she was told by a witness that the man had taken her daughter out of the event area. The witness later found that the woman had been raped.
The victim’s mother said that she had no money for internal examination of her daughter at that time, but told the suspect’s mother about the alleged crime. The woman paid her THB7,000 as compensation and promised that her son would marry the victim after he leaves the Buddhist monkhood.
However, the marriage did not happen.
Later, when journalists visited the suspect’s house to know about the case, the suspect’s mother said her son had only touched the autistic woman’s breasts, and had not raped her.
The victim’s mother added that the marriage did not happen, as the man refused to honour the promise.
The mother told the press that her second daughter, presently 25, was also raped in 2020.
The alleged rape took place when the woman visited her relatives. An old man, 73, who lived in the same village took the woman to a forest and raped her. He also paid the raped woman THB100 for placating.
This case was reported to Satuek police, and the court later asked both sides to talk initially. However, the man had already left his house for Bangkok, and was showing no responsibility, the mother said.
