First-round setback fires Grigorian up to knock out Russian in ONE event

Dec 05. 2020Marat Grigorian of ArmeniaMarat Grigorian of Armenia Multiple-time kickboxing world champion Marat Grigorian of Armenia and Belgium made a successful ONE Super Series debut, finishing off opponent Ivan Kondratev of Russia with a debilitating shot to the liver in round two of the main event of the One Championship.

ONE returned to the Singapore Indoor Stadium with another blockbuster live event. “ONE: Big Bang” featured an incredible display of talent, skill, and willpower from the best martial artists in the world.

In the main event,

Kondratev had stunned Grigorian in round one, connecting on a wild left haymaker followed by a sharp right hook that dropped the Armenian-Belgian striker.

With a heightened sense of urgency, Grigorian came out firing in round two. He punished Kondratev along the Circle Wall, attacking with furious combinations that were punctuated by a well-placed hook to the midsection, which dropped the Russian to his knees. Kondratev was unable to beat the referee’s count, and Grigorian was awarded the knockout victory.

In the co-main event, No. 5-ranked featherweight Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon of the United States kept his unblemished record intact with a virtuoso performance against No. 3-ranked featherweight Koyomi “Moushigo” Matsushima of Japan.

Tonon, a former Brazilian jiu-jitsu No-Gi world champion, wasted no time bringing the action to the mat in the first two rounds, where he overwhelmed Matsushima with a variety of submission attacks. Wary of Tonon’s high-level ground skills, Matsushima could do very little on the feet, as he focused on surviving Tonon’s relentless submission attempts. In the end, all three judges scored the bout in favour of Tonon to win by unanimous decision.

ISKA super heavyweight world champion Murat “The Butcher” Aygun of the Netherlands and Turkey announced his arrival in the ONE Super Series in spectacular fashion, pummelling Brazilian kickboxing champion Anderson “Braddock” Silva with powerful strikes. Aygun showcased his brute strength early, battering Silva across the Circle in the first few minutes. Silva scored on a flash knockdown in round two courtesy of a left hand that knocked Aygun off-balance. In the third round, Aygun turned up the pressure and stalked Silva, who was nearly finished before the final bell. All three judges scored the bout in favour of Aygun to win by unanimous decision.

Two-time K-1 world MAX champion Andy “Souwer Power” Souwer of the Netherlands turned back the clock in a vintage performance, overwhelming “Bamboo Sword” Zhang Chunyu of China across three thrilling rounds to win a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards. The kickboxing legend tagged Zhang with a plethora of pinpoint combinations throughout the bout. In the middle of the third round, Souwer hurt Zhang with an uppercut and proceeded to tee off on his Chinese foe until the final bell. Zhang survived to the end, but it was a dominant showing from Souwer.

South African wrestling star Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane made quick work of No. 3-ranked strawweight Rene “The Challenger” Catalan of the Philippines, winning with a stunning head kick knockout just 37 seconds into round one. A brief exchange of strikes on the feet led to the bout-ending high kick that turned off Catalan’s lights before he hit the canvas.

Malaysia’s Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan turned in a clinical grappling performance, outscoring Vietnamese-American star Bi “Killer Bee” Nguyen across three rounds of solid action to take home a unanimous decision. While Nguyen showed a slight advantage in the stand-up game, Jihin absolutely owned the grappling exchanges throughout the contest. In the final round, Jihin went strike for strike with Nguyen, landing a pair of front kicks to the head to seal the deal on the judges’ scorecards.

Indian wrestling phenomenon Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat was triumphant once again, stopping the Philippines’ Jomary “The Zamboanginian Fighter” Torres, to remain undefeated in mixed martial arts. Torres stunned Phogat with straight punches early on, causing the latter to shoot for a takedown. On the mat, Phogat was the picture of perfection, swiftly moving into a mounted crucifix to end the bout with elbows from the top.

One Championship returns with ONE: Big Bang II, a previously recorded event for global broadcast on December 11.

In the main event, former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion and current No. 3-ranked contender Jonathan “The General” Haggerty of the United Kingdom takes on Taiki “Silent Sniper” Naito of Japan.

Trust Golf joins hands with WAAP to help develop the sport

Dec 05. 2020

The Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) championship has added an important new partner in Trust Golf, the organisation said.

Trust Golf will be on board for two years commencing with the 2021 championship, which will be played from the revised dates of October 7-10 at Siam Country Club’s Waterside Course in Pattaya.

Based in Thailand, Trust Golf is an internationally-renowned training facility which utilises state of the art instructional technology.

Developed by The R&A and the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, the WAAP aims to unearth developing talent and provide a pathway for Asia’s elite women amateurs to emerge on the international stage.

The WAAP was first played in 2018 and won by Thailand’s Atthaya Thitikul who rose to be the World No. 1 amateur golfer after winning a remarkable 12 titles in two years. Having turned professional at the start of 2020, the 17-year-old has made an immediate impact on the Thai LPGA Tour, winning the Order of Merit after recording five wins, including the final four events of the season.

Yuka Yasuda, the 2019 champion, has also gone from strength to strength, rising to No. 5 in the world amateur golf rankings before turning professional.

Dominic Wall, director – Asia-Pacific of The R&A, said, “We are delighted to have Trust Golf as a partner and we would like to thank them for sharing our vision for the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific championship.

“The Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific is the leading amateur championship for women in the region and forms an integral part of The R&A’s commitment to developing golf in Asia-Pacific.”

Dr Prin, CEO of Trust Golf, said, “Trust Golf is proud to support the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific championship which provides an outstanding opportunity for the best elite amateur golfers in the region to compete at a world class event. Trust Golf is focused on helping golfers to improve and develop their skills using cutting edge technology and the players at WAAP show us all what can be achieved with hard work and dedication.”

To avoid a clash with other significant championships in the region, the WAAP will now be played from October 7-10, 2021.

‘Birthday Girl’ Pornanong off to a good start in LPGA Texas

Dec 04. 2020Pornanong Phatlum (Photo Credit to KPGA)Pornanong Phatlum (Photo Credit to KPGA) Former Thai No 1 Pornanong Phatlum carded an opening 69 to trail behind leader Charley Hull of England by one stroke after the opening round of the 2020 Volunteers of America Classic at Old American Golf Club in Texas.

Looking for her maiden LPGA title, Pornanong, who turns 31 today, generated four birdies against two bogeys in the US$1.75 million tournament which was suspended due to darkness at 5:10pm Texas time.

“I’m feeling very cold today, yeah. So I just focus on like every shot that I play and just keep myself warm and bring a lot of clothes, jacket and like hand warmer and then so I don’t like cold weather,” said Poranong whose career highlight includes a runner-up finish in the Women’s British Open two years ago.

Hull shot a 3-under 68 on Thursday and holds a one-stroke lead heading into the second round of the With six birdies, four of which recorded on Nos. 2-7, Hull managed to record her career-best VOA Classic 18-hole score.

“I was so cold out there,” said Hull in a beanie and red parka. “I played pretty solid. The golf course is playing so much different than it did last year. It’s playing a lot longer, which I prefer. I struggled swinging the last two holes, I just got so cold. Along that lake you just get like freezing,” said Hull of her finish with a bogey on the penultimate hole.

With colder conditions, long hitters certainly had an advantage. For Hull, though she wasn’t as accurate as she wanted, she said her swing still felt great. Riding on the momentum after her first birdie of the day at her eighth hole (No. 17), Hull carries the 18-hole lead for the first time since the 2016 Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, where she finished in a tie for eighth.

“I felt like I was hitting it really well up until [the eighth hole]. Actually, I didn’t hit a green, but I was always just like a club short or something or half a club short and I was still putting just off the green, but I felt like I was hitting it pretty well and then just made some birdies coming in,” said Hull.

Americans Jennifer Kupcho and Jessica Korda and Pornanong Phatlum are tied for second at -2. All three players agreed the chilly conditions were the story of the day, as all looked forward to warmer temperatures predicted for Friday.

“I was just trying to stay warm. It was just really tough trying to figure out the wind, cold, wind and the cold. But yeah, no, happy with 2 under,” said Korda. “Made a bogey on my last hole, which, you know, oh, well, happens, but all in all it was a good day.”

Five players are tied for fifth at -1, including major champions Brittany Lang and Anna Nordqvist. Defending champion Cheyenne Knight is tied for 10th after a first-round 71 along with seven other players.

Kiradech swings back into action after bout with Covid

Dec 03. 2020

Despite feeling low on energy, Thailand’s Kiradech Aphibarnrat is aiming to conclude his year on the PGA Tour on a high note.

The Asian star will return to golf at the Mayakoba Golf Classic on Thursday, his first competitive start since testing positive for Covid-19 on November 11.

“I’m negative now but I still feel tired. I think I’m only like 50 per cent,” said Kiradech ahead of the year’s 12th and final FedExCup event in the autumn leg of the 2020-21 schedule.

“I felt bad early on. I had fever for six days and felt weak. I recovered after 10 days but still feel a bit tired. I just wanted to come out to play here as this is the last tournament of the year before I head home [to Bangkok].”

Nicknamed “Asia’s John Daly”, the burly Thai arrived at the Mayakoba Golf Classic following a tie for 11th at the Bermuda Championship early last month. It was his best result since tying for eighth at the CJ Cup in South Korea last year.

A return to Mexico could generate good vibes for the 31-year-old, who finished in joint fifth and third at the last two editions of the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship, in Mexico City.

After self-isolating in Orlando, Florida with the coronavirus, Kiradech started practising two days before flying out to Mexico on Sunday. He spent two hours at the driving range on day one and doubled his range time the next day. He credited time spent with his swing coach Mike Walker in the UK in October for his recent resurgence in Bermuda.

“Felt like I hit the ball good when I started practising last weekend,” he said. “I can’t say too much now, just go out and play and I hope to get in four rounds. I have missed playing in golf tournaments and I played well in Bermuda which was the first time in a while.

“I got to spend two weeks with Mike when I was in the UK and it was good because I’d not seen him for eight months,” he added. “We managed to get a few things done in my game.”

The former Asian Tour No 1 will fly home to Thailand after the Mayakoba Golf Classic to spend the New Year with his family before resuming his campaign in the Middle East, where he is scheduled to play in two European Tour tournaments in January. He will then return to the US when the PGA TOUR heads to the West coast.

Other Asian stars competing at El Camaleon Golf Club this week include Japan’s Satoshi Kodaia, China’s Xinjun Zhang and South Korea’s Byeong Hun An, KH Lee and Sung Kang.

The Mayakoba Golf Classic became the first PGA TOUR event in Mexico when it debuted in 2007. This year marks the 14th playing and features its strongest field in tournament history, with 13 of the top 50 players in the official world golf ranking, including 13-time PGA Tour winner and 2017 FedExCup Champion Justin Thomas (No 3) and Mexico’s highest-ranked player, Abraham Ancer (No 22). Other notables include Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Viktor Hovland, Brooks Koepka and Gary Woodland.

‘Lion killer’ Tonon aims to demolish his opponent ‘as quickly as possible’

Dec 03. 2020

By THE NATION

Undefeated American Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon is up for the biggest fight of his mixed martial arts career thus far.

The multiple Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion and submission grappling icon is looking to boost his standing in the featherweight ranks and hopefully earn himself a shot at the world title.

Tonon, ranked number 5 in the featherweight Official Athlete Rankings, locks horns with number 3 contender and former One World Title challenger Koyomi “Moushigo” Matsushima of Japan at One: Big Bang, which broadcasts live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium this Friday. The bout is one of the evening’s main events.

The grappling superstar says he has studied Matsushima’s style and knows what he’s up against.

“I’ve paid close attention to what [Matsushima] does. He goes in and out a lot with kicks, and he kind of fights from a distance and explodes forward into takedowns. He also has a good reactive takedown. I’ll be mindful of all of those things,” Tonon said.

“I don’t want to say it’s a threat, but it’s a potential problem to be solved.”

Since making his transition to mixed martial arts in 2018, Tonon has been on a roll. He’s now won five fights straight and has managed to remain undefeated so far in his career. What’s even more impressive is that he has looked better with every fight.

Tonon said he’s developed at a rapid pace and is aiming to compete for the world title sooner rather than later.

“I wouldn’t say there’s one specific skill that I’ve been working on, but I’ve just been trying to get better at mixed martial arts. I have a long road ahead of me. I definitely think that by winning, it puts me in a really good spot where I have the leverage to say, ‘Hey, I get the next crack at that thing,” he said.

One: Big Bang is the first of One Championship’s live events in December. The main event features a showdown between One Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Champion Roman Kryklia of the Ukraine and challenger Murat “The Butcher” Aygun of the Netherlands.

Tonon is determined to beat Matsushima and earn himself a shot at new One Featherweight World Champion Thanh Le.

Though the 29-year-old “Lion Killer” is quickly gaining in confidence, he also knows he has to be careful. In this game, Tonon says anything can happen. Still, the brash American urges fans to watch closely, as he predicts a quick finish.

“I’m no longer feeling things out when I’m fighting anymore, or testing the waters with striking. When I go out to fight, I go out to win and crush my opponents as quickly as possible. So, I think this will be another situation where I am very dominant very early,” said Tonon.

“I know there’s a lot of people out there who would love to tune in and watch Garry Tonon get knocked out, so this might be your chance to see that. You never know. I see this fight ending earlier rather than later. I predict a first-round submission or TKO.”

LPGA returns to Texas for VOA Classic

Dec 02. 2020Jin Young Ko,Jin Young Ko, The LPGA Tour heads back to the lone star state for the eighth edition of the Volunteers of America Classic, but months later than it normally would.

After months of delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first year the tournament will take place in December. Rolex Rankings No. 5 and 2015 champion Inbee Park returns to Old American Golf Club in hopes of becoming the third player this season to win twice in 2020. Cheyenne Knight is also back to defend her 2019 title, with friends and family supporting from home. Knight has already earned two top-five finishes this year, a tie for second at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open and a tie for fifth at the Cambia Portland Classic.

The field includes World No. 1 Jin Young Ko, who played in her first 2020 event at the Pelican Championship presented by Dex Imaging & Konica Minolta and 2019 U.S. Women’s Open champion Jeongeun Lee6. All three of the 2020 Rolex First-Time Winners will tee it up this week, including the most recent, Ally McDonald-Ewing, who secured her maiden Tour victory at the LPGA Drive On Championship – Reynolds Lake Oconee.

There are several Texas residents supporting their state with pride at the Old American Golf Club, including Rolex Rankings No. 16 Mi Jung Hur and a new face to the Dallas community, Lindsey Weaver. After the VOA Classic comes the U.S. Women’s Open in Houston, TX followed by the final event of the season in Naples, Fla., the CME Group Tour Championship.

Originally from Austin, TX, 23-year-old Kristen Gillman is ready to compete at Old American Golf Club for the third time. Not only will the experience of playing here help her this week at the Volunteers of America Classic, but the support from her home state will help keep her momentum up.

“I think it’s just anytime you get to play in Texas, it’s kind of a different feeling just because it brings you back to like your roots. I mean, I always love playing in Texas,” said the winner of the 2014 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

“Everyone’s been texting me and asking if they can come and watch, so sadly I have to keep telling them ‘No, sorry, fans aren’t allowed yet.’ I know that they’re all watching and they’re all excited to watch live scoring,” said Gillman. “I mean, they’re just excited to be able to see me compete. Even though they won’t be here in person, they can at least watch some of it on TV. I think they’re excited to see me out here playing in Texas.”

Though some players from around the area may seem like they have an advantage, Gillman said this course is a lot more versatile than most think. With the event in December for the first time, she said the conditions will certainly be challenging for all.

“It’s definitely different playing this late. We’re just lucky though to still be able to get this event in and we’ll probably get the crazy Texas weather with the wind and the cold, but I think it’s good that we’re still able to get this event in. I think that this golf course is a little bit different I feel like than the typical Texas golf courses that you see. I feel like it has a little bit more links feel to it, so I just think it kind of brings out a different kind of creativity in your golf game,” said Gillman. “You kind of have to think your way about where you want to place the ball on the fairway and around the green. I feel like that it just makes it easier doing that.”

FROM RON SIRAK: VOA CLASSIC MARKS HOMESTRETCH OF LONG STRANGE TRIP THAT IS 2020

Fifty years ago – in November 1970 – the Grateful Dead released its iconic song “Truckin’” with the even more iconic line: “What a long, strange trip it’s been.” Fittingly, no one person took credit for the song, with Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh and Robert Hunter all sharing writing honors. History sometimes serves up sweet ironies. This is one.

The collective process by the Grateful Dead that produced “Truckin’” perfectly captures the spirit of this turbulent year. When the LPGA Tour season began at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions in January, who suspected the 70th anniversary campaign would exemplify the resilience of the oldest professional sports organization for women. COVID-19 made sure of that.

And what organization embodies the “we are all in this together” spirit needed to tackle adversity better than Volunteers of America? In its memorable TV commercial, a young man grapples with himself in hand-to-hand combat in the middle of a street, ending with the tagline: “Moral injury is a war inside that no one should have to fight alone.”

As personal as the Drive On spirit is, it is also a collective process. Golf is about individual initiative; the LPGA Tour is about collective effort. The Tour collectively presents doors of opportunity that individual women kick open. This Drive On season began in Florida, went to Australia and then went on hiatus for five months.

Now, in a month in which it wasn’t supposed to be playing, this week’s Volunteers of America Classic at The Colony near Dallas exemplifies adaptability and determination. Originally scheduled for Oct. 1-4, the VOA Classic changed dates, modified its format to exclude spectators and still provides women with what it is all about – opportunity.

“VOA serves on the frontlines of our nation’s COVID-19 response, helping those most at risk during the pandemic,” said Volunteers of America National President Mike King. “We know how important it is to take all necessary precautions to keep people safe, and holding this year’s tournament without spectators was the best thing to do.”

Shields is looking to do what no man or woman has done before and become champion in pro boxing and MMA simultaneously

Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced the signing of Claressa Shields, considered the best female boxer in the world. The 25-year old American is a three-division boxing world champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist. Shields, who has won all 10 of her bouts since turning pro after the 2016 Games, chose to make her MMA debut in the PFL, and will look to enter the 2022 PFL Season after a series of special attraction fights in 2021.

Shields is the consensus number one female pound-for-pound boxer in the world today, and has long expressed her intentions to compete in the sport of mixed martial arts as well, with aspirations of becoming the greatest two-sport athlete of all time and simultaneously holding world championships in boxing and MMA. In addition to her two Olympic golds, Shields is a two-time amateur world champion and the fastest boxer to earn titles in three different divisions.

Apart from her accolades inside the boxing ring, Shields is an advocate for youth development and women’s rights. In 2016, Shields was voted as the SportsWoman of the Year by the Women’s Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King.

“I am thrilled to announce that the PFL has signed Claressa Shields, a two-time Olympic Boxing gold medalist and three-division pro boxing world champion,” said Peter Murray, CEO of the Professional Fighters League. “She has transcended sports and has become a global icon, and an inspiration to aspiring young athletes. “Claressa will continue to box professionally as she embarks on her multi-year PFL MMA career. Fans will get to experience her professional MMA debut in 2021, which can be seen across the United States via ESPN, as well as in 160 countries all over the world,” Murray added.

“I want to thank Professional Fighters League and Peter Murray for believing in me and giving me this amazing opportunity. What drew me to the PFL is that it is definitely a fighter-first organization, and I can’t wait to be a part of that. Since turning pro it has been my goal to be the GWOAT and to be a two-sport star like Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders,” said Claressa Shields. “I want to go where no man or woman has gone and hold championships in both boxing and MMA at the same time. The one-two punch of PFL in MMA and Salita Promotions in boxing will allow me to continue to show that there are no limits to what a woman can do. I can’t wait to get to work!”

“We are delighted to enter MMA with the PFL — an innovative, progressive organization with the most compelling format in the industry,” said Shields’ manager, Mark Taffet. “Claressa is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete who has already accomplished in boxing what no man or woman has ever done. She now looks to continue to make history by becoming the first man or woman to hold championships in both boxing and MMA simultaneously. Now, with the PFL in MMA and Salita Promotions in boxing, she will be able to do that on a global stage while continuing to grow her worldwide audience of fans.”

The PFL’s 2021 season begins on April 23, with the Regular Season continuing on April 29, May 6, June 10, June 17, and June 25. The 2021 season features the return of two-time reigning PFL Women’s Lightweight Champion Kayla Harrison, who is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Judo.

European Tour and PGA TOUR announce landmark Strategic Alliance

Nov 28. 2020Chief Executive of the European Tour Keith PelleyChief Executive of the European Tour Keith Pelley Historic move brings golf’s two leading global Tours together in partnership

The European Tour and PGA TOUR heralded a significant new era for global golf with an historic announcement of a Strategic Alliance.

The landmark agreement will see golf’s two major Tours explore all facets of collaboration, working together on strategic commercial opportunities including collaborating on global media rights in certain territories.

This will come through part of the agreement which sees the PGA TOUR acquire a minority investment stake in European Tour Productions (ETP), the European Tour’s Media Production company, which produces and distributes content internationally.

The Tours will also work in partnership on a number of other areas including global scheduling, prize funds and playing opportunities for the respective memberships. Further details of these areas will be announced in due course.

Keith Pelley, Chief Executive of the European Tour, said: “This partnership is an historic moment for the game of golf and is a fantastic opportunity for both the European Tour and the PGA TOUR to explore ways to come together at the very pinnacle of our sport and work in unison for the benefit of the men’s professional game.

“Today’s announcement is the formalisation of a closer working relationship between the Tours in recent years. It was one which was crystalised earlier this year when both Jay and I were part of the working group containing representatives of the four Majors and the LPGA, a group which helped shape the remainder of the golfing calendar for 2020 during unprecedented times.

“We shared the challenges of working through a year neither of us could have ever imagined and we found definite synergies in many areas of our respective Tours. That gave us the impetus to move forward together and arrive at this momentous announcement we are making today.”

Jay Monahan, Commissioner of the PGA TOUR, said, “We are thrilled to announce this further strengthening of our partnership with the European Tour, and we look forward to working together for the benefit of the men’s professional game and for golf fans around the world.”

Eleven gamers from around the world earned the right to represent one of the eleven current MotoGP™ teams for the four-round Global Series, an eight-race event that has determined the wearer of the 2020 MotoGP™ eSport crown.

Due to the restrictions placed on the MotoGP™ paddock during the global pandemic, MotoGP™ eSport Global Series events can‘t be held on site so the eleven finalists competed against one another with the official MotoGP™20 Videogame while communicating via a communal video call in their homes. For the last event, they took on Silverstone and Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo Circuit over ten laps in the season’s final two races with double points of offer for each bout.

Competing for Red Bull KTMFactory Racing Team, Williams_Adrian has been the class of the 2020 field, scoring five races wins and two further podiums from eight races. Even when double MotoGP™ eSport champion trastevere73 (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) applied pressure throughout the final round, the Spaniard wouldn’t wilt. He came into the final round 39 points clear of brother Williams_Cristian (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and 61 up on trastevere73. But any hopes of sewing up the Championship in Race 1 soon came undone. A tough move by Petronas SRT Yamaha’s Sanshoqueen put the leader on the ground on the first lap and in a dramatic couple of seconds, Williams_Cristian also found himself on the floor. The race soon became an exhibition of overtaking as Williams_Adrian fought back to fifth, and his brother to sixth. All the while trastevere73 led from the front in a vintage performance that showcased all of his very best skills. He led outgoing champion AndrewZH home by 2.2s after ten laps of top class racing, with Indonesian moe taking a first Global Series podium with a measured ride to third.

Emotions were running high after Race 1 with several of the leading names unhappy with a number of overtakes. But soon they were focused on Race 2 as MotoGP™ star Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia Racing Team Gresini) and Aprilia technician Antonio Jimenez handed out some advice on how to deal with the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.

It was another tense affair. Trastevere73 led from the first corner, with Williams_Adrian and Williams_Cristian slotting in behind. And it ended that way after a tremendous study in concentration from the Italian, who won by just 0.5s. But Williams_Adrian’s second place was enough to seal his maiden MotoGP™ eSport crown, with his brother finishing a close third.

It means Williams_Adrian won the top prize of a BMW M235i xDrive Gran Coupé for an excellent season. Trastevere73 got his hands on the second prize, an Aprilia RS 125 GP Replica. And Williams_Cristian won a Lenovo Legion Y740 Laptop for his efforts in third overall, rounding out another stunning season of competition for the MotoGP™ eSport Championship.

The fourth year of the series has been another brilliant success, with plenty to play for and close competition to keep the adrenaline pumping throughout.
