Gucci brings colourful blooms to liven up its winter collection

GUCCI is gearing up for winter with a new series of G-Timeless and G-Frame timepieces that are adorned with lovely floral prints for a festive look.

The stunning four blossom-inspired motifs boast both straps and dials in different shades, with the 38mm G-Timeless round-faced watch available in beige and aquamarine with a strawberry motif engraved on the case back. Another distinctive feature is the studded yellow gold PVD bezel.

G-Frame timepiece with a floral print

The 21x34mm square-shaped G-Frame watches are crafted from the same materials. The key difference between the two models is the size of the flower print, which is smaller and more detailed on one variant. White leather is combined with a yellow gold PVD case and a white mother of pearl dial with pyramidal glass. The case backs are engraved with the feline head, a recurring Gucci motif.

G-Timeless watch in turquoise

For more than 50 years, the Ramathibodi Foundation under the Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has successfully raised funds to provide medical treatment to underprivileged patients.

The need is as great as ever and this year, Princess Sirindhorn, as chair of the foundation, has graciously bestowed one of her drawings as the design for the foundation’s latest collection of souvenirs, the proceeds of which will go to purchase medical equipment for Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute (CNMI), Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital in Samut Prakan.

Punsiree Kunakornpaiboonsiri, managing director of Ramathibodi Foundation, revealed the story behind this special souvenir collection.

“It is of immeasurable royal grace to the Foundation that HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has graciously bestowed her drawing of two red hearts connected, representing the hearts of both givers and receivers to Ramathibodi Foundation to use as a design of this special souvenir collection,” Punsiree said.

The foundation is hoping to raise more money this year by offering companies and organisations the chance to purchase the souvenirs in bulk as corporate gifts for such special occasions as the New Year.

The special souvenir collection bearing the Princess’s two red hearts with the slogan “Giver’s and Receiver’s hearts connected” features T-shirts, polo shirts, shirts, sweaters, caps, pencil cases, calico bags, polyester bags, pins, books, cushions, blanket pillows, neck pillows, drinking glasses with cover, vacuum flasks, pill cases, and folding umbrellas.

adidas Originals has collaborated with Toei Animation to launch a collection of seven shoes – each modelled after the popular anime series Dragon Ball Z and their characters.

Since 1989, Dragon Ball Z has transcended the world of anime and manga, reaching global icon status within contemporary pop-culture. The collaboration sees three of the most iconic battles between heroes and villains throughout the anime re-imagined in sneaker form. Each month will feature two sneaker releases representing an epic rivalry in the series.

Kicking off this month with the legendary battle between two of Dragon Ball Z’s most recognisable faces, Son Goku and Frieza, the collaborative project begins the first two pairs; ZX 500 RM and Yung-1. Following this, the project moves to Son Gohan and Cell who are depicted in sneaker form as Deerupt and Prophere.

Representing the final battle in the project, the Ultra Tech and Kamanda silhouettes are made-up in the image of Vegeta and Majin Buu. With the culmination of all seven Dragon Balls, the collaboration will be finished with the appearance of Shenron the Dragon, which is re-imagined as the EQT Support Mid ADV PK. Each release will include two silhouettes (one hero and one villain), dropping monthly from this month through December.

The shoes will be presented in special collaborative packaging featuring an individual Dragon Ball detail, each box coming together to create a singular back cover design – a homage to the tapestry-like images found on the spines of the original Dragon Ball magazines. Re-affirming a relentless commitment to collaboration and creativity, the project positions adidas Originals at the forefront of global popular-culture, uniting classic adidas design with one of the most beloved animated series of all time.

“adidas is an exceptional partner and it’s been a delight working with their creative team to bring this exciting collaboration to life,” said Masayuki Endo, president of Toei Animation Inc. “Their artistic vision adds a new chapter to the ongoing story of Dragon Ball’s merchandising success and we can’t wait for fans to discover what’s been created.”

With more than 200 retail and wholesale outlets in 35 countries, Polish activewear and lifestyle brand 4F has now landed in Thailand with its first retail store at Siam Discovery.

 The brand was founded in 2007 by Igor Klaja, whose passion for sport inspired him to build his own high-quality and trendy sportswear brand for both professional and amateur athletes. Before 4F was established, he worked as a member of the sales staff in a multi-brand sportswear store, where one of the best-sellers was the Polar fleece jacket. He saw potential in the product and started to travel around Poland to sell that jacket from his own car. He then designed more products and expanded to other sportswear categories. His brand 4FUN was created in 2003 and was later relaunched as 4F.

The brand is recognised worldwide for its functional and modern design. It has collaborated with the National Olympic Committee and selected Sports Associations, and was used for the Polish representative team during the recent Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. Athletes who donned 4F outfits including Polish ski jumpers, Maciej Kot and Kamil Stoch and Latvian Street Workout Champion 2017 Daniels Laizans.

“Health and fitness is becoming increasingly popular in Thailand, as people look to eat healthier diets, gets more exercise or dress for it. We’re seeing more and more Thais embracing the Athleisure trend by mixing and matching sportswear pieces into their everyday look. We saw an opportunity to introduce 4F to the market and Siam Discovery is a perfect central location for young Thais to shop.
