The 31-year-old posted a “Hello Kuala Lumpur!” photo of her arrival in the city on Saturday.

She has also posted pictures of her stay, ranging from photos of pineapples, to what seemed like a day out in a night market.

In one photo, Ozawa was also seen drinking at the bar with boyfriend Filipino actor and chef Jose Sarasola.

On her Twitter account, she posted a picture of her enjoying local food at a Chinese restaurant.

Using the pen name “Miyabi”, Ozawa began her career in adult films in 2005, gaining fans across Asia.

Aside from adult films, Ozawa has acted in mainstream movies such as Taiwanese horror film Invitation Only, an Indonesian comedy Menculik Miyabi and horror film Hantu Tanah Kusir, as well as a Filipino flick titled Nilalang.

Polling day follows an unprecedented campaign marked by scandal, repeated surprises and a last-minute hacking attack on Macron, a 39-year-old who has never held elected office.

The run-off vote pits the pro-Europe, pro-business Macron against anti-immigration and anti-EU Le Pen, two radically different visions that underline a split in western democracies.

Le Pen, 48, has portrayed the ballot as a contest between the “globalists” represented by her rival — those in favour of open trade, immigration and shared sovereignty — versus the “nationalists” who defend strong borders and national identities.

Voting will begin on the mainland at 0600 GMT in 66,546 polling stations. Most will close at 1700 GMT, except those in big cities which will stay open an hour longer.

A first estimate of the results will be published around 1800 GMT.

“The political choice the French people are going to make is clear,” Le Pen said in her opening remarks during an often vicious debate between the pair on Wednesday night.

The last polling showed Macron — winner of last month’s election first round — with a widening lead of around 62 percent to 38 percent before the hacking revelations on Friday evening. A campaigning blackout entered into force shortly after.

Hundreds of thousands of emails and documents stolen from the Macron campaign were dumped online and then spread by anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks, leading the candidate to call it an attempt at “democratic destabilisation.”

France’s election authority said publishing the documents could be a criminal offence, a warning heeded by traditional media organisations but flouted by Macron’s opponents and far-right activists online.

“We knew that there were these risks during the presidential campaign because it happened elsewhere. Nothing will go without a response,” French President Francois Hollande told AFP on Saturday.

Winds of change

US intelligence agencies believe state-backed Russian operatives were behind a massive hacking attack on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign ahead of America’s presidential election last November.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the French hack, but the government and Macron’s team previously accused the Kremlin of trying to meddle in the election — accusations denied in Moscow.

Whoever wins Sunday’s vote it is set to cause profound change for France, the world’s sixth-biggest economy, a permanent member of the UN security council and a global military power.

It is the first time neither of the country’s traditional parties has a candidate in the final round of the presidential election under the modern French republic, founded in 1958.

Macron would be France’s youngest-ever leader and was a virtual unknown three years ago when he was named economy minister, the launching pad for his sensational presidential bid.

He left Hollande’s Socialist government in August and formed En Marche, a political movement he says in neither of the left or the right and which has attracted 250,000 members.

The ex-investment banker’s programme pledges to cut state spending, ease labour laws, boost education in deprived areas and extend new protections to the self-employed.

He is also fervently pro-European and wants to re-energise the 28-member European Union, following Britain’s referendum vote last summer to leave.

“France is not a closed country. We are in Europe and in the world,” Macron said during Wednesday’s debate.

But Le Pen is hoping to spring a shock that would resonate as widely as Britain’s decision to withdraw from the EU or the unexpected triumph of US President Donald Trump.

First round winners

National Front leader Le Pen sees herself as part of the same backlash against globalisation that has emerged as a powerful theme in the US and in recent ballots in Britain, Austria and the Netherlands.

She has pledged to organise a referendum on withdrawing France from the EU and wants to scrap the euro, which she has dubbed a “currency of bankers.”

She has also vowed to reduce net immigration to 10,000 people a year, crack down on outsourcing by multinationals, lower the retirement age and introduce hardline measures to tackle Islamic extremists.

Many voters still see her party as anti-semitic and racist despite her six-year drive to improve its image.

Macron topped the first round of the presidential election on April 23 with 24.01 percent, followed by Le Pen on 21.30 percent, in a crowded field of 11 candidates.

The results revealed Macron was favoured among wealthier, better educated citizens in cities, while Le Pen drew support in the countryside as well as poverty-hit areas in the south and rustbelt northeast.

Voting for the run-off started for French voters in north America and some overseas territories on Saturday.

President Tai Ing-wen told a select group of journalist from the two regions that Taipei wants to seal free trade agreements with countries in the regions.

The president received journalists from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and India on Friday at the Office of the President Republic of China in Taipei. She gave the interview in both Mandarin and English.

Taiwan already has FTAs with Singapore and New Zealand and wants to add Thailand and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

After taking office a year ago, she initiated the New Southbound Policy (NSP), aimed at strengthening cooperation with Asean and South Asian nations, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

Past southbound policies emphasised developing market and short-term business opportunities. The NSP is different.

“This time we are setting down a long-term policy agenda that places focus on wide-range cooperation. This mutually beneficial arrangement will put people at the heart of what it does,” according to the statement released by the President Office.

“The New Southbound Policy isn’t about making a political statement in the region, but it is about how we can build more mutually beneficial relationships with the international community, and the community here in Asia.

“It’s taking another look at how Taiwan can play a more proactive role in a community of so many close neighbours,” she said.

Apparently she was clarifying a misunderstanding that she might try to play politics with China and the United States after US President Donald Trump called her, which angered China.

“Let me repeat. It is not about geopolitics. It is about economics and trade,” she said.

Her NSP and China’s Belt and Road Initiative are two completely different models. This cannot be replaced or blocked by either money or politics, she said.

One of her flagship projects is people exchanges through encouraging Taiwanese students to study abroad and offering scholarships to foreign students for studying in Taiwan.

Malaysian and Thai students studying in Taiwan reached 16,051 and 1,749 last year.

The government has worked with companies to grant financial assistance to students from Asia-Pacific in particular. Taiwan has a friendly immigration policy.

The government has encouraged foreign students completing their studies here to work with local companies for a while before going back to their countries.

Taiwan appreciates very much migrant workers’ contribution to economic development in the country.

Taiwan has relationships with Beijing and Washington to maintain and keep in balance. This requires careful management.

There are also relationships in the region as equally important, such as those with Asean and South Asian countries.

Asean countries are powerful as a group, she added.

East Japan Railway Co. is due to start operations of the new Train Suite Shiki-Shima luxury sleeper train on Monday.

Its two panoramic view cars sport glass paneling on their fronts, ceilings and sides to offer passengers an up-close view of the expansive nature in Hokkaido and the Tohoku and Koshinetsu regions, where the train will run.

The cars’ interior walls are bright white and the carpet is light green to capture the feel of spring.

“I want visitors to enjoy a panoramic view of the seasons,” said crew member Ayako Eto, 37.

The dishes on the train will be changed seasonally, and will include ingredients such as wagyu Japanese beef and vegetables raised in areas along the railway route.

JR East plans to offer services similar to luxury hotels to improve the image of areas along the railroad and attract tourists. Tickets for trips departing from this May to March 2018 have already sold out.

The 10-car train accommodates 34 passengers.

The prize is sponsored by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a global safety science company.

The winner will receive a $20,000 award and recognition during the 2017 Asean ministerial meeting on science and technology hosted in Myanmar.

Candidates should be 40 years of age or younger at the time of submission with an area of expertise related to this year’s theme. Applications and nominations will be accepted from May 3 until June 23.

“The Asean-US Science Prize for Women emphasises the role of female professionals working in applied science who use their work to better society in safe and sustainable ways and act as role models for other women working in and pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math fields,” said US Mission to Asean Charg? d’Affaires Jane Bocklage.

“We must recognise and encourage scientists to continue their work towards resilience and improving the safety and well-being of the fast-growing urban populations,” said Barb Guthrie, chief public safety officer for UL.

“Through their work, these women help cities harness the positive effects of rapid urbanisation for the benefit of all residents of Asean region. Advances in applied sciences promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Southeast Asia,” said Cheong Lee Sing, Head of Science and Technology Division, Asean Secretariat.

The commander-in-chief said there had been cooperation between the two militaries for many years and Myanmar wanted to further promote relations. He called for more cooperation to tackle terrorism and invited Wieker to visit.

The delegation also visited Austria and General Othmar Commenda from the Austrian armed forces offered to train officers, the announcement said.

Min Aung Hlaing and Weiker laid wreaths and paid tribute to fallen German personnel at the Bundeswehr memorial and visited the Military History Museum in Gatow, Berlin. He then visited tourist sites such as the Berlin Wall, Check Point Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate. He also went to the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung-FES political foundation.

The delegation met Dr Markus Ederer, state secretary of the Foreign Office in Berlin, to discuss the democratic transition, increased cooperation, peace process and border affairs, the military in Nay Pyi Taw said.

The Myanmar delegation went to the Army Combat Training Centre in Letzlingen village on April 28 and they met Myanmar embassy staff.
