Thai golfer Kiradech Aphibarnrat scored his first-ever hole in one in the first round of the 2022 Mexico Championship on Thursday.
The 2022 Mexico Open at Vidanta Vallarta teed off on April 28 and finishes on May 1.
Kiradech hit the hole in one with a 5-iron club on the par-three fifth hole with a distance of 189 yards.
It was not only his first hole in one on the PGA tour but also the first of his career.
Kiradech finished the first round tied for 61st place with a one-under-par 70.
Six players, including Americans Jonathan Byrd, Brendon Todd, Trey Mullinax, Bryson Nimmer, and Kurt Kitayama, and Spaniard Jon Rahm shared the lead with a seven-under par 64.
Liverpool Football Club is delighted to announce Jürgen Klopp has signed a new contract to extend his commitment with the club.
The deal means the manager will remain at the helm of the Reds beyond the expiry of his previous deal, which was set to end in 2024.
Assistants Pepijn Lijnders and Peter Krawietz have also put pen to paper on new terms, mirroring those of Klopp and reaffirming their dedication to the project, which began with the German’s appointment in October 2015.
After inking the contract, Klopp told of his delight to Liverpoolfc.com by saying: “There are so many words I could use to describe how I am feeling about this news… delighted, humbled, blessed, privileged and excited would be a start.
“There is just so much to love about this place. I knew that before I came here, I got to know it even better after I arrived and now I know it more than ever before.
“Like any healthy relationship, it always has to be a two-way street; you have to be right for each other. The feeling we were absolutely right for each other is what brought me here in the first place and it’s why I’ve extended previously.
“This one is different because of the length of time we have been together. I had to ask myself the question: Is it right for Liverpool that I stay longer?
“Along with my two assistant managers, Pep Lijnders and Pete Krawietz, we came to the conclusion it was a ‘Yes!’
“There is a freshness about us as a club still and this energises me. For as long as I have been here, our owners have been unbelievably committed and energetic about this club and it is clear that right now this applies to our future as much as I’ve ever known.
“In Billy Hogan and Julian Ward we have leaders throughout the club who are completely focused on renewal and refreshing so we can continue to compete at the very highest level.
“We have managed to harness the best of what we have created already at the same time as injecting fresh impetus into our environment.
“The new AXA Training Centre is a superb home for us and the fact that Anfield will grow even bigger soon with the Anfield Road development, I can’t wait for that.
“We are a club that is constantly moving in the right direction. We have a clear idea of what we want; we have a clear idea of how we try to achieve it. That’s always a great position to start from.
“When the owners brought the possibility to renew to me, I asked myself the question I’ve mused over publicly. Do I have the energy and vibe to give of myself again what this amazing place requires from the person in the manager’s office?
“I didn’t need too long to answer in truth. The answer was very simple… I’m in love with here and I feel fine!”
Liverpool appointed Klopp as manager on October 8, 2015 following seven successful seasons in charge of Borussia Dortmund. Prior to his spell at the Westfalenstadion club, he had been in charge of FSV Mainz 05, leading them back into the Bundesliga and reaching Europe for the first time in their history.
In his first term on Merseyside, he led the Reds to the finals of the League Cup and Europa League, though they lost narrowly on both occasions.
In 2016-17, Klopp steered the club back into the Champions League, where they would reach the final in Kyiv the following year, though it ended in heartbreak with defeat by Real Madrid in Ukraine.
Liverpool’s response saw a 97-point haul in the Premier League – finishing just one behind Manchester City – and success in Europe when Tottenham Hotspur were defeated in Madrid to clinch the club’s sixth European Cup.
The UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup were added to the trophy cabinet before the Reds ended a 30-year wait to be crowned league champions as they emphatically swept to the Premier League title.
Earlier this season, the Carabao Cup was added to the honours list after Chelsea were beaten on penalties at Wembley – and the teams will meet again in the final of the Emirates FA Cup next month.
Meanwhile, Liverpool remain hot on the heels of Manchester City at the summit of the league and they recorded a 2-0 win in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Villarreal at Anfield on Wednesday.
Manchester United’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick confirmed on Thursday (April 28) he will stay at the club in a consultancy role when Dutchman Erik ten Hag replaces him on the bench at the end of the season.
The German, who took over at United following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, had an agreement to work as a consultant for two years when he took the job.
Reports in Austria said the Austrian Football Federation was hoping to appoint him as their new national team coach but Rangnick declined to comment when asked about that prospect.
“What I can tell you and confirm is that I will definitely continue with my consultancy role at the end of the season, and for the next two years, and I’m very much looking forward to that,” he said after his side’s 1-1 home Premier League draw against Chelsea.
Cristiano Ronaldo crashed in a second-half equaliser against Chelsea to earn Manchester United a point at Old Trafford in the Premier League
Cristiano Ronaldo’s fifth goal in three games salvaged a point for Manchester United in a 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Thursday that further damaged his team’s chances of a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Ronaldo ran onto a ball over the Chelsea defense from Nemanja Matic and delivered a clinical finish in the 62nd minute, two minutes after Marcos Alonso gave the visitors the lead.
Reece James later curled a shot against the post for Chelsea, which dominated the first half but found United goalkeeper David de Gea in fine form.
With only three games left to play in the league, United stayed in sixth place — five points behind fourth-place Arsenal and having played two matches more than its rival for Champions League qualification.
Tottenham is between the two teams, in the fifth spot, with three more points than United and two games in hand.
Chelsea consolidated third place and is six points above Arsenal.
Ronaldo came into the game having scored a hat trick against Norwich and another goal against Arsenal in his previous two games.
On 17 goals, Ronaldo is tied with Son Heung-min in second place in the Premier League scoring chart behind Mohamed Salah.
“Not only the goal Cristiano scored but his whole performance, his attitude at age of 37, this is not normal to do that,” interim United manager Ralf Rangnick said. “If he plays like he did today he can still be a big help to this team.”
The buildup was dominated by reports that Rangnick was considering taking over as Austria’s national team coach as well as more protests against the Glazer family’s ownership.
Some protesters entered Old Trafford in the 17th minute, having missed a minute for each of the Glazers’ 17 years in charge.
“Glazers out” read a banner above the tunnel before kickoff at Old Trafford, where a mixture of De Gea’s saves and poor-decision making meant Chelsea failed to turn their 11 shots into a deserved halftime lead.

Thomas Tuchel’s team finally broke the deadlock when Alonso volleyed home following Kai Havertz’s flick-on but Chelsea was unable to build on that.
United defender Victor Lindelof saw a stoppage-time header denied and the highlight of the closing stages was the introduction of 17-year-old talent Alejandro Garnacho for his United debut.
“One team deserved to win and that was us,” Tuchel said. “We didn’t take it. It was a very, very good performance but we were not decisive enough. We lacked a bit of determination in the box to win the game.
“It sometimes happens. It’s on us to learn from it. You need to be clinical to get the reward. We have to live with a point but it’s not a fair result.”
Two-time champion Chanettee Wannasaen was hot on her heels as she fired an opening 66 to take a three-stroke lead in the Bt3 million Thailand Mixed hosted by TrustGolf at Rayong Green Valley Country Club on Thursday.
The teenage girl who has four titles including the first two Thailand Mixed events this year produced seven birdies against a lone bogey on the 14th hole at the par 72 course which measures 6,826 yards off the men’s tee and 5,985 off the women’s.
“I played quite O.K. even though I didn’t make some easy putts. However, I made up for that by making several birdies from about 10 feet. It was a good start on this course where the greens are quite challenging. If you hit to the wrong spots, it will be really tough,” said Chanettee who just celebrated her fourth trophy of the year on the Thai LPGA Tour at the Laem Chabang International Country Club last week.
“About the game plan tomorrow, I have to be really careful of some holes. The ball can roll pretty fast off the green fringe if you aim to the wrong position,” added the 17-year-old Chanettee who, as the current No 1 player on the 2022 TrustGolf Tour Order of Merits, already reserved one of the two spots to compete in the TrustGolf Women’s Scottish Open scheduled between July 28-31 at the Dundonald Links in Ayrshire, Scotland. The other spot, No 2 on the Merit standings, will be decided after the final on Sunday.
Three players followed three shots behind at joint second. That included 2017 Thai LPGA Tour No 1 player Parinda Phokan who fought back from two successive bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes to shoot five birdies ad finished with a 69.
Red-Hot Chanettee Gets Quick into Gear at 3rd Thailand Mixed Opener
“I got off to a slow start. It took me quite awhile to get my momentum. A birdie on the 18th really boosted my confidence and things started to turn my way from then on,” said the 25-year-old from Khon Kaen .
“This is a difficult course. There a lot of winds and the flag positions are quite tough. You have to hit the ball to the right position or otherwise you will end up in trouble. Tomorrow, I have to play in the afternoon when strong winds are expected. My plan is to hit the fairways and the greens,” added Parinda whose round of 69 were also matched by 2021 Thailand PGA Tour No 1 player Sangchai Sukcharoen and Pannapa Polnamin from Udon Thani.
Sangchai, 24 from Bangkok, had four birdies after 14 holes but finally had his scorecard blemished with a mistake on the 15th.

“I hit great tee shots and hit the iron well at the front nine. But after the turn my shots didn’t find the fairways. I hope to hit the fairways more to create more birdie chances tomorrow,” Sangchai said.

It is supported by the Sports Authority of Thailand, the National Sports Development Fund, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Bangkok Bank, B.Grimm Company, Bond Holdings, AISPLAY, Bridgestone, Trust Pharmacy, Trust Live Streaming, Adidas Golf, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration and Rayong Green Valley Country Club in Rayong.
Ralf Rangnick said on Wednesday that Manchester United must face up to the reality their top-four hopes have likely disappeared as they prepare to take on Chelsea this week without a swathe of key players.
Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho have joined the Red Devils’ lengthy list of absentees for Thursday’s rearranged Premier League clash with Thomas Tuchel’s team.
United are returning to Old Trafford wounded by back-to-back losses at Liverpool and Arsenal, which have all but ended any faint hopes of reaching next season’s Champions League.
“I don’t think it makes sense now to still speak and speculate about the Champions League,” United interim manager Rangnick told a press conference.
“We need to be realistic.
“Even if we win all four games, it’s still not in our own hands. But what is in our own hands is the way that we play, the level of performance.
“Even for the next season it’s important to finish this season on the best possible note.”
The German, who is set to remain at Old Trafford in an advisory role next season with current Ajax boss Erik ten Hag in the managerial hotseat, said United would still be an attractive destination for players despite their likely absence from the Champions League.
“The renewal of the contract of Bruno (Fernandes) showed that it’s still possible — this club is an attractive club and with a new manager (Erik ten Hag),” he said.
“With a new approach, with a new manager and the way he wants to play, this is still a massively interesting club.
“I am looking forward to help both Erik and the club, and everyone at the club, to get the best and to change the whole approach again next season so that Manchester United can be a top club again.”
Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Luke Shaw remain absent as does midfielder Fred, following a negative reaction after returning to training.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a doubt for the match, which captain Maguire and Sancho will also miss.
The injury issues mean Rangnick will lean on United’s youth system.
Hannibal Mejbri, 19, featured at Liverpool and 17-year-old Alejandro Garnacho has been on the bench recently, with Alvaro Fernandez, 19, another pushing to be involved.
Six players spearheaded by red-hot Chanettee Wannasaen took part in the photocall ahead of their participation in the third Thailand Mixed hosted by TrustGolf which stops at the Rayong Green Valley Country Club this week.
Chanettee who scooped four titles including back-to-back Thailand Mixed titles this year, Chonlada Chayanun from Nakhon Ratchasima, and 15-year-old rookie Cholcheva Wongras posted for the camera alongside three young guns
Atriut Winaicharoenchai, winner of two All Thailand Golf Tour this season, Denwit David Boriboonsub, the 2021 ATGT Rookie of the Year winner and Smart Kittirattanapaiboon from Chiang Mai.
The photo shoot was conducted under the “Culture holds the inspiration power” theme which reflects the picturesque layout at Rayong Green Valley Country Club.
“Rayong Green Valley features certain characteristics which reminds me of the summer in Japan especially the Tanabata Festival (Star Festival),” said TrustGolf Tour manager Arintapol Nuchasatiara.
“Besides, there’s a famous café called “Mountain Coffee @Zoo” situated not far from the course. It has a beautiful Japanese style garden which is reminiscent of my travel in Japan in the summer. That’s how I got the inspiration for this photocall.”
Arintapol also added the fact that each photocall theme is created at each particular venue makes TrustGolf Tour unique from others.
“That makes our tour different and widely-recognized. We are proud to help contribute to the development of golf in Thailand. Furthermore, we hope to turn golf a more accessible sport to fans with our long live coverage of over 32 hours in four days,” the Tour manager said.
The third Thailand Mixed will take place from April 28 – May 1. It will be competed in a four-day stroke play format of 72 holes with top 60 and ties proceeding to the weekend rounds. Players, officials and participants are required to strictly follow the protective measures against COVID-19 throughout the tournament week.
The tournament serves as the last of the three Thailand Mixed series which will select top two players on the 2022 TrustGolf Tour Order of Merits to compete in the TrustGolf Women’s Scottish Open scheduled between July 28-31 at the Dundonald Links in Ayrshire, Scotland.

The Vuntanadit equestrian sisters have showcased impressive performances on international stages as representatives of Thailand. Following the success of her elder sister Suphakamol “Pam” Vuntanadit, who became the first Thai rider in history to compete in the CDI3* Big Tour Grand Prix and finishing fifth in the Grand Prix Special class in Poland, Suphajit has achieved satisfactory results in the Small Tour level in Zakrzow, Poland.
The 21-year-old Suphajit, now with four international shows under her belt, finished third with a score of 69.858 percent in the CDI2* Intermediate I Freestyle, the same category to be contested in the Asian Games later this year.
In the Intermediate I Freestyle, Suphajit and her horse Wall Street JV, have danced to their own musical composition which incorporates Thai instruments, along with a snippet from the period soap opera Love Destiny, and fuses it with a contemporary melody to win the judges’ hearts.
Suphajit said; “I was very excited because I was the youngest rider in the level in this competition.
I am very proud to be one of the first Thai riders to bring forth Thai music on an international platform for the equestrian sport.
I want to thank Dressage & Music from Spain, the expert in producing music for many famous riders around the world, for their enthusiasm and dedication in incorporating Thai instruments and music into this modern composition. It is a beautiful piece which has been highly commended by both the judges and the audience, earning almost the highest score in the level.”
“I am aiming to achieve higher scores in the upcoming competitions to qualify for the 2022 Asian Games. I want to thank all the Thais for their support and I will do my best to continue to be a good ambassador for Thailand in this sport.”

The Thailand National Team has unveiled the official kits for the 2021 Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi from May 12 to 23.
Thiti Pluckchaoom, vice president of Grand Sport Group, said that the company has designed and manufactured the kits for Thai athletes to use when competing in the 2021 Southeast Asian Games.
He said that the design for the kits is based on the concept “Power of Spirit”. The concept was born after the company collected ideas from athletes in several sports because the spirit of the athletes and related personnel are important, he said.
A total of 871 Thai athletes will participate in the 2021 Southeast Asian Games, 483 male and 388 female.
The Thai contingent to the Games will be the second biggest, behind hosts Vietnam whose 965 athletes will be in the fray in various events.
Manchester City and Real Madrid staged a match for the ages on Tuesday, and the good thing about City’s 4-3 win at the Etihad Stadium in a UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg is that there’s at least 90 more minutes where that came from.
And while there might’ve been some question about how Pep Guardiola would react to City seeing 2-0, 3-1, and 4-2 leads turn into a one-goal win, he laid to rest any regrets with a glowing review.
“I don’t have one complaint about the result, about the performance, anything I’m incredibly happy with how they performed in front of the world,” Guardiola said. “We did everything to win, with courage, without the ball, and now we recover and hopefully arrive right well for the game in Leeds and in Madrid.”
Guardiola did say City might need to find another level to make its advantage hold up in Madrid something that may only require better finishing, as City produced six huge chances in the win but that Real’s dangerous players mean three goals in a game can happenand they can happen quickly.
“At the end maybe the chances we create we have to convert. I want to convince my players that we won the game and heads up. We were one up but even two or three or four you have to perform. They have the ability to score three goals in 10 minutes. It is a good test for ourselves.”
Guardiola, for the most part, usually reads the game the same way neutrals do — aside from refereeing decisions — and he’s not wrong in that City was dominant on Tuesday. Their xG conceded figure was 1.66, but Real found three goals. It happens that way sometimes and City can also find hope in the fact that their machine doesn’t seem to be swayed by being home or away.
When you consider that he was without his top-choice fullbacks in suspended Joao Cancelo and injured Kyle Walker, and that he had to plug Fernandinho at right back when deputy John Stones was hurt, why wouldn’t he be thrilled?
