Raising the bar in the premium credit card segment, Citi Prestige has enabled travel-loving card members to indulge themselves in a world of unforgettable experiences.

Recently, Citi Thailand hosted an exclusive party to introduce the new design of the Citi Prestige credit card, which reflects a sense of stability and sophistication and is ready to unlock a world of luxurious privileges. Sandeep Batra, head of Credit Cards and Loans of Citi Thailand, organised the event, which was attended by such celebrities as Von Sugunnasil, Sarun and Phanit Limsawatwong, Jay and Jareyadee Spencer, Vorravit Siripark, Vasu Surattiantra, Peeraya Bunnag, and Manvad Nakornthap. “Citi Prestige has now embarked on its fourth year of delivering exclusive privileges to sophisticated travellers for them to enjoy a world of experiences in Thailand and overseas. Recently, Citi revamped the design of Citi Prestige credit card to provide a sense of stability and security to our customers through the application of hard-earned detail while at the same time demonstrating our keen sensitivity and grip on progress with modern-reduced design,” Batra said.

“The material itself has a premium and sophisticated touch. You can feel the weight of metal, which complements the luxurious lifestyle of the cardholders themselves. We want our card to emerge from the card canvas as an icon; a steady-state expression that our underlying dynamic chassis product can live inside of for decades.”

The fourth Festival Du Feminine will be held on March 15 and 16, this year in collaboration Swissotel Bangkok Rachada.

Bruno Rotschaedl, the hotel’s general manager, and festival organiser Sylvie Baradel explained that events take place simultaneously around the world to let women “experience awakening and empowerment in a safe and intimate environment”.

“It’s a journey of selfdiscovery that facilitates women to feel, access and reconnect with the multiple facets of their selves, breaking away from the rigid expectations of peers, parents, colleagues, partners, and society at large,” Baradel said.

“Women empower one another when they connect with their inner selves, with one another and with the world.”

Founded in Paris, the “sisterhood movement” has expanded to Canada, the US, Mexico, Colombia, India, Morocco, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Thailand and is taking root in Indonesia, Japan and the Middle East.

The aim is to bring together a “large tribe” of women to meet, share, transmit, honour and celebrate precious moments of their lives.

Twenty interactive workshops will feature midwives, energy healers, artists, psychologists, scientists, coaches, therapists, business executives and writers.

Some are more dynamic in nature, brought to life with chants. Others offer a softer and subtler femininity in motion. Still others are more reflective, where women delve into their psyche, emotions, weak points and discomforts. You’ll see Tibetan singing bowls, primitive expression and more.

Six Thai facilitators will participate.

Angeli Jagota is a yoga professional and author of the bestselling book on spiritual sexuality, “The Intimacy Protocol”.

Rasee Govindani is a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator and cancer survivor who will facilitate the Survivor Circle. This is described as a space for women healing from trauma to share their stories, listen or sit in silence.

Sophirat Muangkum is a photographer of nudes who will facilitate the “If clothes wrap the body, the skin wraps the soul” workshop. Her session will change the way people look at each other. It will teach women not to judge people and to find the good things in others first. It will inspire women to be confident and have selfesteem.

In panel discussions, inspirational Thai women will share their thoughts, hopes and challenging experiences in relation to women’s relationships with their bodies. Cindy Sirinya Bishop, actress, supermodel, television host and initiator of the viral “Don’t tell me how to dress” campaign is just one of the headline personalities who will present their very personal profiles of girl power.

Registration is now open. Advance tickets cost Bt5,400 for both days and Bt2,700 for one. Single tickets will cost Bt3,000Bt6,000 and buddy tickets Bt10,800Bt15,400.

Music for Pink Park

event February 21, 2019 01:00

By The Nation

Members of the public are being encouraging to attend the fundraising charity concert, “Pink Park Eternal Love Concert” on May 13 at the Royal Paragon Hall to help underprivileged women suffering from breast cancer.

All income from the ticket sales and souvenirs from the concert will go in their entirety to the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation.

Dr Kris Chatamra, founder and chairman, says the money will go towards financing the running costs of the “Pink Park Village” project, which take care of the poorest breast cancer patients.

“The QSCBC has more than 25 years of experience working with underprivileged cancer patients, many from slum communities. We can see the urgent need for a facility to look after patients who are living in abject poverty and after their cancer surgery, no longer need to be in a hospital bed, but have nowhere to go to recover other than the squalor of a slum home. Pink Park will offer a sanctuary where patients can recover from their treatment; receive physical and psychological care; or if it is their time, pass away with dignity. So many of our cases live in appalling conditions, hopeless, helpless and in pain both physically and emotionally. Pink Park Village’s mission is to provide them with the best possible care as they recover or if indeed it is their time to pass away. The patients will encompass not only the urban poor from slum communities but also the underprivileged from rural areas. These patients travel to Bangkok to receive cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy without money and accommodation; some even live under expressway bridges or in the corridors of the hospital. The Pink Park Village fills this desperate need by providing accommodation for this group of patients,” he says.

The Pink Park Village is built on a 121rai piece of donated land in Nong Chok [close to Minburi]. Currently, the compound comprises of three main buildings for accommodation for convalescing and terminal patients and a rehabilitation centre, which will be staffed with therapists and volunteers. The project is still being developed and completed; it needs on going funding for operating expenses and the construction of two additional buildings for patients.

Ticket for the concert are available at Thai Ticket Major and priced from Bt1,500 to Bt5,000.

Fortune-telling and astrology, ancient fields of study based on planetary positions, time of birth, and energy derived from nature, have long been part of Thai culture, and believers can indulge this week as the Siri Wattana Cheshire Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, brings the “Siri Wattana Fortune-Telling for the Disabled” to Siam Paragon.

Pooling the knowledge of more than 47 experts and prognosticators, this special event is running at the Lifestyle Hall on the second floor from Friday (February 15) through February 24.

Outstanding astrologist Khata Chinabanchon offered a brief look at luck, career path, wealth, and love in the year ahead.

“This year, the stars’ alignment will shift from Cancer to Gemini at 02.50 on February 22. The change will affect two adjacent signs, where the recipients of auspicious fortune include Capricorn, and Cancer, which Rahu (misfortune) has drifted away from. People with these two signs can expect to be blessed in their career path; those who’ve encountered adversity will find their misfortune reversed. However, they are advised to be mindful of their health especially concerning muscles, bones, and any plans for travelling by water. Signs with potentially promising luck for those working as government officials, police officers and in the military include Pisces and Leo,” he says.

“People with Gemini and Sagittarius signs should be aware of network of people around them, as well as the need for emotional control. They may experience irrational disagreement, and excessive infatuation. Advised course of remedial actions include contributing to coffin donation, liberating cows and cattle, and praying for Rahu reversal. Those born on A Tuesday or Friday are advised to pray to the Reclining Buddha according to the episode of teaching the Asurin Rahu attitude if temples occupied by Rahu cannot be approached.”

“Those born under Scorpio and Taurus are bound to be fortunate in love and relationships. As Rahu moves away, they have the possibility to find love, perhaps in the form of a soul mate.

“People born under Gemini and Aries are likely to be favoured with wealth, where the financial status looks promising. Gemini people may capitalise from taking risks, although doing so in moderation is recommended. Aries, on the other hand, may find their source of wealth from direct means including their active careers or enterprises.”

The event features sessions led by Thananthorn Boonjakrawan, an experienced astrologist in the field described as “10-stratum astrology”, an ancient Thai study that came into existence before Buddha was born. Determining one’s fortune is derived from 10 digits from the date of the birth, in place of 10 stars, to bond with the zodiac sign and accurately predict future circumstances. Each patron will receive a fortune index card to determine one’s fate, which can be used eternally.

Rattanamanee Laong is a specialist in Gemstone astrology, which can determine one’s fortune related to career path, health, luck, and love. Each gemstone is associated with different signs. In order to mesh this with Thai culture, she blends a study called “Cheiro Numerology” to enhance the fortune-telling.

The event also features various fortune-tellers with different specialities including Kamol Saengwong, Chonkanok Ditjulka, Chart Wangso, Jutamas Na Songkhla, Master Kwo Soong Kim, Jane Incense Horoscope, Pisit Jirayanichpaisan, Suppachai Anutee, Sorakrit Sahathanakritnont, Moddam Laleela, Ake Treemahajak, Han Majong, and more.

Admission is Bt400 for a day pass. Book now by calling (02) 251-6458.
