In the situation that “food” has become more than just its deliciousness, people tend to focus more on consuming food for good health and wellness. Over the past 2-3 years, most people have changed their lifestyles and behaviors to fit with new normal life, especially preparing food by themselves or cooking at home.

However, if there is a lack of proper nutrition understanding, it may affect good health both in the short and long term. From the current data, it was shown that many Thai people are at the risk of developing non-chronic communicable diseases (NCDs) due to their improper dietary habits and nutrient intake. In particular, among Thai children, it was found that more than 20 per cent were obese and most of them consumed more than twice the amount of daily sodium as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).

This year, Ajinomoto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., has launched a cooking class campaign under the concept of “Delicious and nutritionally balanced diets” that gives youngsters the opportunity to have fun experience through cooking practice on how to easily make a delicious balanced meal.

Through this program, Ajinomoto has passed on its amino acids’ expertise and healthy nutrition with umami into a fun cooking class to encourage the young generation to pay attention to health visualization. Recently, the cooking class was joined by a group of 50 young students from Satri Si Suriyothai School to practice cooking skills through the menu “Healthy Delicious Soft Omelet”, led by Chef Akradej ‘Benz’ Techakrenee, an experienced young chef, to demonstrate and share cooking techniques along with easy nutrition knowledge throughout the activity, which took place at Ajinomoto Cooking Space, Ajinomoto’s Head Office, Bangkok.

THAI sells five Airbus A340 planes for THB350 million

#SootinClaimon.Com : ขอบคุณแหล่งข้อมูล : หนังสือพิมพ์ The Nation.

https://www.nationthailand.com/business/corporate/40019354

The national flag carrier, Thai Airways International, has managed to sell five Airbus A340 series planes that had been parked unused for over 13 years for 350 million baht.

THAI sells five Airbus A340 planes for THB350 million

Cherdphan Chotikhun, chief technical officer of THAI, said the airline has sold one A340-500 and four A340-600 planes to a buyer for 350 million baht. He said the buyer has already signed a contract to acquire the planes.

Cherdphan said the five planes will be sold at prices higher than their assessed value. THAI is waiting for the Transport Minister to approve the transfer of ownership of the five planes to the buyer.

Cherdphan said THAI still has four decommissioned A340 series planes and the firm was now negotiating with prospective buyers.

The sale of the five Airbus A340 planes was the latest sale of THAI’s decommissioned planes after the national carrier entered a rehabilitation programme.

Earlier, THAI had sold one Boeing 737-400 plane and 10 Boeing 747-400 planes, earning 2 billion baht.

THAI sells five Airbus A340 planes for THB350 millionCherdphan admitted that it was hard to sell decommissioned A340 series planes and THAI has been trying to sell them for years.

He credited the current successful sale to the rehabilitation programme.

“After we entered the rehabilitation programme, we could disclose full information about the planes and we are now open to prospective buyers with transparency,” Cherdphan explained.

He said THAI had announced the sale on its website www.thaiaircrafttrading.com and sent emails to over 500 prospect buyers.

“In the past, we were bound by regulations of state firms, which gave us almost no chance to sell the decommissioned planes. As a result, THAI had to shoulder the cost burden of the decommissioned planes for years,” Cherdphan added.

The Cabinet gave the green light for THAI to undergo rehabilitation under the Bankruptcy Act in May 2020, while the airline’s protection filing was granted by a court in June last year.

THAI filed for bankruptcy protection after reporting total debt of 245 billion baht at the end of 2019. The rehabilitation programme requires the airline to halve its 30,000-strong workforce and cut costs to 53 billion baht this year.

THAI bought 10 A340 series planes in 2003 during the first term of the Thaksin Shinawatra government, when Thanong Bidaya was the THAI board chairman.

At that time, THAI had a plan to buy 39 planes from 2002 to 2004 with a budget of over 200 billion baht.

The A340 series planes were used for direct flights from Bangkok to New York and from Bangkok to Los Angeles. But the two routes generated accumulated losses of 7 billion baht in three years of operations, so the routes were cancelled in 2008.

After the 10 A340 series planes were decommissioned, the Royal Thai Air Force bought an A340-500 plane, leaving nine others parked unused at U-Tapao Airport since then.

Cherdphan said THAI has a plan to sell 14 more planes — six Boeing 777-300 planes, six Boeing 777-200 planes and two Airbus A380 planes.

“We are confident we can sell them all. We now know where to find buyers and our sale method is transparent and we have experience in how to do it,” Cherdphan said.

He added that THAI plans to rent two Airbus A350-900 planes to expand flights during the first quarter of next year when more flights are expected.

THAI also plans to reuse five decommissioned planes – two Boeing 777-200 ER planes and three Airbus A330-300 planes – in the fourth quarter of this year, Cherdphan said.

As of June 21, THAI has a fleet of 61 planes but 20 Airbus A320-200 planes are being used by Thai Smile, leaving the national flag carrier with 41 planes for service, comprising 12 Airbus A350-900 planes, four Boeing 777-200ER planes, 17 Boeing 777-300ER planes and eight Boeing 787 planes.

The Home Building Association (HBA) will host the ‘Home Building and Materials Expo 2022’ from September 14-18 at Hall 6 of Impact Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi province. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 attendants who will spend around 3.5 billion baht at 40 participating home building companies.

HBA to host Home Building and Materials Expo 2022 on Sept 14-18 under ‘Build-Change-Earth’ concept

HBA president Worawut Kanjanakul said the Home Building and Materials Expo 2022 will be organised under the concept of ‘Build-Change-Earth’, with a focus on presenting over 1,000 models of eco-friendly houses that feature state-of-the-art technology for modern and environmentally conscious customers.

“Home building market in the past few months is showing a positive trend with significant growth in houses priced at 5-10 million baht and luxurious houses over 10 million baht,” he said. “Popular locations include Bangkok and major tourism provinces such as Chonburi (Pattaya) and Nakhon Ratchasima (Khao Yai), where people tend to build a second home for vacation.”

HBA to host Home Building and Materials Expo 2022 on Sept 14-18 under ‘Build-Change-Earth’ concept

Worawut added that the upcountry market also shows strong demand for houses priced from 2.5 to 3.5 million baht thanks to the recovery of the tourism industry that helps boost the local economy, while more customers are opting to use the services of home building companies instead of general contractors.

“To boost sales before yearend, HBA is planning to host the Home Building and Materials Expo 2022 on September 14-18. This year we use the concept ‘Build-Change-Earth’ to increase awareness in environmental and climate change issues due to excessive use of resources, which has resulted in more serious natural disasters every year. We hope that the expo will help urge people to do their part to make the world better,” he said.

Worawut said the future trend of home building must focus on style, function, and environmental aspects. Home building companies can help fulfil these goals by using a smart design that maximises the use of natural light and wind to reduce the reliance on electricity. Furthermore, home builders should try to use only eco-friendly materials and minimise pollution during the construction process, including the sound, wastewater, and air pollution caused by small dust particles (PM2.5).

“At the Home Building and Materials Expo 2022, you will meet over 40 home building companies who will present over 1,000 designs for houses with prices ranging from 1 to 100 million baht,” he said. “The designs will mostly focus on using modern technology, promoting closeness to nature, minimising environmental impact, and energy saving or using of renewable energy.”

These partners will showcase the latest innovation in home building and energy saving, as well as offer special discounts of up to 10,000 baht for those who reserve a house at the event.

Attendants will also enjoy special discounts and gifts from booth organisers, while buyers of the “House Model Collection by Leading Home Builders” book will get a chance to win 300,000 baht worth of gold.

For those looking to buy construction materials, they will find plenty of special-priced items at the event, including eco-friendly roof tiles made from recycled materials and aluminium doors and windows that help increase air circulation in the house.

(Bangkok, August 23, 2022) – Thai Prime Minister H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha bestows the prestigious “Prime Minister Awards – Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Award 2022” from the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) to Mr. Abel Deng, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., at a ceremony event held at Santi Maitri Building Government House.

The event was chaired by officials and representatives from both public and private organizations.

At the award ceremony, Thai Prime Minister Prayut congratulated several organizations, including Huawei, on winning the award. He expressed his appreciation for Huawei’s work in cultivating cybersecurity talent, sharing cybersecurity knowledge and skills, and promoting cybersecurity awareness and capabilities in Thailand.

This prestigious distinction reflects Huawei Thailand’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and leadership in information security, as well as raising awareness on cybersecurity and data protection across the country. Over the past 12 months, Huawei Thailand joined a series of cybersecurity-related initiatives, such as ‘Thailand National Cyber Week’ and the ‘Cyber Defense Initiative Conference’, and collaborated with the NCSA for the ‘Thailand Cyber Top Talents 2021’, the first cyber defense competition of its kind in Thailand that gathered together 800 outstanding IT students and personnel. To reinforce the skills of Thailand’s cybersecurity human resources, Huawei also sent a team of Thai representatives to the ‘Cyber SEA Game 2021’ competition that gathered teams from across ASEAN countries. The Thai team was able to achieve first place and was named the best cybersecurity team in ASEAN.

Earlier this year, the Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) at Huawei Thailand was selected for an executive-level cybersecurity training course. Last March, prior to the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), the company shared its knowledge with various government agencies as well as the private sector. On August 5, 2022, the company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NCSA to develop and accelerate cybersecurity skills for Thai IT personnel. Plans are underway for 4,000 trainees to benefit from practice-based learning through Huawei’s e-Lab online learning platform, including real infrastructure and hands-on cybersecurity workshops spread out over 3 years, covering the four cyber workforce levels: basic, intermediate, advanced, and expert level.

Thailand’s Cyber Security Awards were created to honor individuals and organizations who make a profound impact on improving the country’s cybersecurity. They are conferred in recognition of their commitment, leadership in their field, and sound business practices and strategies. Huawei Thailand has been recognized for its continuous efforts to address the challenges of new technologies and for updating and sharing its innovative cybersecurity solutions with academic and governmental organizations, as well as private partners.

Mr. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, Minister of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), congratulated Huawei Thailand and commented on the current cooperation with the IT leader on its latest award: “In today’s digital world, cybersecurity and data protection are vital to Thailand’s development and ensure our country’s journey towards Thailand 4.0.  Huawei has been a reliable and dedicated partner, sharing the experience, technologies, and talent cultivation standards it has gained over years of operations.” he said.

General Prachya Chalermwat, Secretary General of the NCSA, said: “Our collaboration with Huawei Thailand, a public-private partnership, is critical in order to establish a globally trusted cyberspace in the country. We are honored to present the ‘Prime Minister Awards – Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Awards’ to five excellent private companies, including Huawei, as a leading global ICT company and solutions provider. Collaborating with all stakeholders in an open, transparent, and responsible manner will enable everyone to enjoy all the benefits brought by technological advances.”

We will continue to help raise awareness and share best security practices and procedures through initiatives such as the ‘Thailand Cyber Top Talents’ and the ‘Cyber SEA Game’ competitions. In line with our policy ‘Grow in Thailand, Contribute to Thailand”, we will make every effort possible and use all available resources to help the country move forward to Thailand 4.0 and become a secure digital hub in the Asia Pacific region.”
