USDC or the USD Coin is an ERC-20 standard token situated on the Ethereum blockchain  Listing on the Bitkub Exchange and was co-created by Circle. USDC is also supported on 8 other blockchains: Algorand, Avalanche, Flow, Hedera, Polygon, Solana, Stellar, and TRON, with more blockchains to come.

USDC is classified as a stablecoin or a digital currency with stable value due to its value peg to the U.S. dollar in a 1 USD to 1 USDC ratio, while also enabling a wide range of utilities within Ethereum’s ecosystem. USDC is distinct in its transparency, wherein its peg to the U.S. dollar is maintained through the preservation of U.S. dollars within its reserve,  managed by leading U.S. financial institutions and custodians within the U.S. regulatory perimeter. Additionally, USDC is known for its consistent financial audits by Grant Thornton LLP with monthly audit and statistic reports.

The partnership commenced with the mutual objective in disseminating knowledge behind investments in digital assets, blockchain technology, as well as understanding behind stablecoins and USDC for Thai investors for safe and sustainable adoption. USDC is a stablecoin which worldwide recognized as a transparent and stable token due to its support by various noteworthy conglomerates and financial institutions worldwide, aligning with the Bitkub group’s vision in bridging the masses to the digital financial world safely and sustainably.

Sugrit Phutaviriya, Chief Executive Officer of Bitkub Labs provided insights towards the partnership: “This partnership with Circle is an integral step forward for us in creating awareness behind technology and educational knowledge that will be developed through our Learn & Earn educational model. The model is aimed to initiate interest and enhance access to knowledge by enabling users to study, take examinations, and receive coin rewards in exchange for their dedication. This can be taken into account as an intrinsic approach that will instill pride for hardworking learners. Bitkub is overwhelmingly excited for what’s ahead in this partnership and believe that with the aid from Circle, both parties will be able to push educational investments in a sustainable and widespread manner.”

Jeremy Allaire, Circle Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer added: “As a company, it is important to us that we partner with strong actors across the world who have strong reputations, follow regulatory guidance, and work with the broader global community for good. We had the chance to meet the Bitkub team earlier this year and found that we shared a vision about the possible future for cryptocurrency and blockchain. We’re excited to build a partnership here in Thailand with Bitkub and Circle and drive new and innovative movements together.”

July 15, 2022 — Mr Chavalit Tippavanich, president and CEO of IRPC Public Co Ltd and Mr Piyabut Charuphen, managing director of Bangkok Industrial Gas Co Ltd (BIG) together signed the contract to manufacture nitrogen and oxygen gases for IRPC refinery.

IRPC, BIG sign nitrogen and oxygen manufacturing contract for IRPC refinery to promote the manufacturing of Euro 5 certified diesel

The project aims to promote IRPC refinery’s efficiency as well as improve the quality of refined diesel fuel according to Euro 5 standard under the government’s Ultra Clean Fuel Project (UCF), which will be effective on January 1, 2024, in a bid to reduce PM2.5 problem.

“The project is in line with IRPC’s strategic plan which focuses on uplifting the core business by expanding investment that promotes long-term competitive efficiency and becoming an organization with net zero emission,” said Mr Chavalit.

Under the contract, BIG as a leader in industrial gas manufacturing will establish an air separation unit to serve the need of UCF and other future projects of IRPC. The unit will also help strengthen the stability of infrastructure in the IRPC Industrial Park, Rayong, especially in terms of increasing gas demand and the improvement of diesel fuel quality under the Euro 5 standard.

“The new manufacturing facility will be the heart of our refinery’s improvement to achieve Euro 5 standard for our diesel, which will help reduce pollution and improve the country’s environmental standard, in line with IRPC’s business aspiration in promoting growth while providing sustainable care for the society, community, and environment,” said Mr Chavalit.

Mr Piyabut Charuphen, managing director of Bangkok Industrial Gas (BIG), added that the project will have an investment value of over 13 billion baht and will be ready for commercial operation in October 2023.

“BIG will contribute technology in the manufacture of high-quality industrial gases that will facilitate IRPC’s improvement of refinery and achievement of Euro 5 standard, which will drive us closer to the net zero emission goal. This project coincides with BIG’s purpose of promoting efficient energy usage while minimizing the impact of climate change,” said Mr Piyabut.

He also added that the new air separation unit will help reduce the emission of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere as it is located in the IRPC Industrial Park, close to where the gases will be used, and therefore eliminate the need to transport liquid nitrogen and oxygen to factories.

NBTC sets up another panel to review True-DTAC deal

#SootinClaimon.Com : ขอบคุณแหล่งข้อมูล : หนังสือพิมพ์ The Nation.

https://www.nationthailand.com/business/40017681

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) on Tuesday resolved to set up another panel after four existing subcommittees ended up in a deadlock over the merger of two telecom giants.

NBTC sets up another panel to review True-DTAC deal

Asource from the NBTC said the telecom watchdog also approved the office’s proposal to extend the period for the study of the merger of True Corporation and Total Access Communication (DTAC) by another month.

The 60-day period for consideration of the merger ended on July 10 and the NBTC extended it to August 11, the source said on Wednesday.

According to the source, the NBTC decided during its meeting on Tuesday to set up a subcommittee on trade competition to study the deal after votes by four subcommittees — on law, on consumer protection and citizens’ rights, on technology, and on economics — were tied 2-2.

The NBTC said that a decision of the new subcommittee would assist the watchdog in making a final and prudent decision.

“Now, that the subpanels have tied 2-2 in their opinions, a subcommittee on trade competition will make the decision more prudently and it will be a decisive vote,” the source said.

So far, the NBTC Office has held three focus group public hearings from academics, the civil sector and consumer groups, and related businesses.

The source said the NBTC Office has not yet finished writing reports on the results of the three hearings for the NBTC to consider.

The source added that the existing NBTC commissioners indicated that they would go ahead in making the final decision on the deal next month without waiting for two new NBTC members to be appointed. The two new members’ qualifications are still being scrutinised by the Senate.

The NBTC source said he could not tell how four other NBTC members would vote but he could sense that all members were worried about the consumers’ interests after the merger, which would result in just two major players in the telecom market – the newly merged firm and Advanced Info Service (AIS),

The source said if the new firm is prohibited from raising monthly fees of mobile phone airtime or internet connection services, it might reduce airtime or connection data or internet speed in return.

Telecom industry observers believe the NBTC is now under higher pressure to consider the True-DTAC deal after AIS itself announced last week its plan to acquire fixed broadband provider Triple T Broadband.

Meanwhile, an academic, Chatchai Tuongboriphan, expressed his opposition to the merger of True and DTAC.

Chatchai said the merger of telecom firms are different from the earlier merger of CP Retail Development with Tesco Stores (Thailand).

Chatchai explained that the merger of two retailers had two markets to play – modern trade and traditional trade — while the merger of telecom firms would affect only one market, causing a severe impact.

Chatchai noted that DTAC has sent out strong signals that it was preparing to exit from the market after its subscriber base fell from second place 20 years ago to third place now. He said DTAC has lost a lot of customers to the two other major players.

He said the merger would result in 47 per cent of market share for AIS and 52 per cent for True and the two key players would eventually stop competing against each other and consumers would no longer receive attractive packages from the two like what they got during fierce competition between three major players.

Country’s first cannabis dispensary opens for education, medicinal purposes

#SootinClaimon.Com : ขอบคุณแหล่งข้อมูล : หนังสือพิมพ์ The Nation.

https://www.nationthailand.com/business/40017678

Bespoke Life Science has launched Thailand’s first cannabis dispensary of its kind, with “cannabis sommeliers” on hand to educate people and make the plant available for medical purposes.

Country’s first cannabis dispensary opens for education, medicinal purposes

The KANA Pure Dispensary was officially opened in Sukhumvit, central Bangkok, on Tuesday, though a soft launch took place early this month.

“Thailand’s cannabis market right now is quite young and energetic after both marijuana and hemp were legalised,” Prab Thakral, President and Group CEO of Boutique Corporation, Bespoke’s parent company, noted on Tuesday.

“However, misuse has led to misunderstanding in society. Therefore, the country desperately needs to educate people about the benefits of cannabis and how to use it, particularly for medicinal purposes,” he said.

According to Prab, the KANA store aims to be a place that provides a “comprehensive cannabis experience and education” for the wellness of Thais and traditional medicine use.

The dispensary’s entire staff is knowledgeable about the plant, with some being dubbed “cannabis sommeliers” who will provide walk-in customers with all necessary information and clear up disputed facts.

Country’s first cannabis dispensary opens for education, medicinal purposes

Meanwhile, the cannabis available at the dispensary is premium medical-grade, meaning it is high quality and safe for consumers to use as a healthcare alternative to treat symptoms and conditions such as insomnia, stress, anxiety, Parkinson’s disease and even cancer, Prab explained.

Bespoke Life Science executive director Jakkrit Sirikantraporn said the medical-grade cannabis is the result of the company’s partnership with Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna Nan.

The cultivation facility in Nan is a closed system that allows for complete control over nutrients, carbon dioxide essential for photosynthesis, and light control, which is essential to ensure that medical grade cannabis is harvested and stored free of contaminants, fungi, carcinogens or insects, he said.

The collaboration has resulted in development of 15 high-quality cannabis strains with FDA approval, Jakkrit said.

“We have received FDA certification, including FDA approval for the import of up to 398 seeds from 41 cannabis strains, which means we have the opportunity to release more medical-grade cannabis strains,” he said.

Jakkrit insisted that all KANA products are certified under Central Lab standards.

Country’s first cannabis dispensary opens for education, medicinal purposes

Meanwhile, Prab acknowledged that he does not expect much sales from the dispensary initially, except for brand awareness.

The company is collaborating with the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine under the Public Health Ministry to develop cannabis for medical treatment.
Prab also announced a plan to launch the first KANA Wellness Clinic in the third quarter this year, in line with a rising health trend and emerging cannabis market.

The clinic intends to be a place where cannabis can be administered directly as an alternative medicine under the close supervision of certified doctors.

The unique collaboration between Triumph Motorcycles, Williams Advanced Engineering, Integral Powertrain Ltd, and WMG, University of Warwick, funded by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles through Innovate UK, was set up to create ground-breaking developments in specialist electric motorcycle engineering and innovative integrated technology design.

The extensive live testing programme, which involved numerous assessments of the bike’s performance on the rolling road, as well as on track, provided vital direction into the final set-up and calibration of the TE-1 prototype demonstrator, which has now delivered on all of its targets and objectives.

Triumph announce completion of TE-1 project with final prototype testing results

PROJECT PHASE 4 COMPLETE

Now officially complete, the live testing phase of the Triumph TE-1 project has seen the prototype demonstrator exceed expectations and achieve some incredible outcomes, delivering on all project objectives of accelerating electric motorcycle development and innovation, setting new standards for the sector overall, including final battery and range performance. The expertise and capabilities developed throughout the project now pave the way for the exciting electric future to come from Triumph Motorcycles.

Category-leading 161km / 100mile range

Exceeding the real-world range of the equivalent electric motorcycles available today, the Triumph TE-1 prototype has achieved all project targets with regards to the energy capacity of the Williams TE-1 project developed battery, with an incredible 161km / 100mile range, based on official testing and projections.

Regenerative braking has been successfully implemented for TE-1, with scope for further optimisation, as well as greater efficiencies in the motor generator unit and transmission, which could improve the range further for the future of Triumph electric motorcycles.

Performance that matches the Speed Triple 1200, with an even faster 0-100mph

With a level of performance similar to the current Speed Triple 1200, the TE-1 prototype delivers an impressive 130kW (177PS / 175bhp) peak power, as well as peak torque of 109Nm (80 lb-ft), for instant responsiveness, smooth controlled power all the way up through the rev range, and a completely exhilarating ride.

The TE-1 has also achieved an incredible standing start acceleration official test result of 3.6 seconds 0-60mph and 6.2 seconds 0-100mph.

With further refinement of the electronics, including the traction control system and front wheel lift control, the team responsible for delivering the TE-1 project anticipate that performance could be enhanced further, harnessing the full torque potential to enable even quicker standing start acceleration.

Daytona 200 champion racer Brandon Paasch participated in the final testing phase, both in engine performance evaluation and also with the final set-up of the prototype through track testing.

“The throttle response on the TE-1 is kind of incredible, it’s very torquey and when you first touch the throttle it’s instant power, which is obviously what I love as a motorcycle racer – I love when it’s super-torquey and picks up right away, so for me it was a really great experience” said Brandon. “I got to peg this thing all the way from zero to 100% throttle and it’s unbelievably quick, it pulls like crazy.”

Triumph announce completion of TE-1 project with final prototype testing results

Game-changing 20-minute charge time

Advances in battery and charging technologies that have been developed as part of the Triumph TE-1 project, in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE), have resulted in a game-changing 20-minute charge time (0-80%), successfully delivering against the ambitious targets laid out by Innovate UK, the government’s research and innovation agency that supports business led R&D funding and UK business growth.

220kg overall weight

With an overall weight of 220kg (485 lb), the TE-1 prototype is lighter than the equivalent electric bikes available currently, by up to 25%, giving it an incredible power-to-weight ratio. Having a physical size and scale comparable to a Street Triple, but with the ergonomics, geometry and weight distribution of a Speed Triple, the TE-1 delivers a completely thrilling ride, while being confidence-inspiring, nimble and compact.

“I wish I’d had this at Daytona, that acceleration in this chassis, and how it corners – wow!” said Brandon Paasch. “I think this would be a really nice motorcycle to ride on the street, just based on how nimble and agile it is, and how light it feels.”

Triumph’s signature thrilling feel and neutral, confidence-inspiring handling

With a throttle action and torque delivery map directly engineered from a Speed Triple 1200 RS, the track testing and dynamic rider assessments on the TE-1 prototype demonstrator deliver a level of handling that matches Triumph’s current triple cylinder internal combustion sports performance motorcycles.

The TE-1’s exhilarating level of performance and acceleration, combined with its engaging and dynamic riding package, result in a bike that delivers all of Triumph’s signature feel, and world-renowned neutral handling – a smooth, predictable ride, that is agile and nimble, great in the corners, with a controllable power that incites confidence and guarantees fun.

A pure, unique and characterful new electric-Triumph soundtrack that builds to a hair-raising crescendo

Distinctive and thrilling soundtrack, building to the most spine-tingling crescendo – the Triumph TE-1 prototype’s pure, characterful sound is considered to be more appealing and exciting than any of the equivalent electric motorcycles currently available, thanks to its unique helical gear pair primary transmission.

With noise levels tested at Mira’s external noise measurement facility, the TE-1 successfully achieved all noise standards set by the R41 homologation tests for wide open throttle, cruising and urban.

A style and presence that is 100% Triumph, with signature design DNA

Instantly recognisable as a Triumph, the TE-1 prototype’s muscular presence utilises signature design cues from the brand’s iconic modern history of performance motorcycles, while clearly being a bike of the future. Now updated with its final body panels and paint scheme, the prototype demonstrator brings a style and presence that is 100% Triumph, with all of the brand’s signature design DNA, from its aluminium frame to its distinctive twin headlights and head-down focused stance and poise.

“We have already seen an incredibly positive reaction to the TE-1 prototype from motorcyclists all around the world, where many people are telling us that for the first time, they are seeing an electric motorcycle as desirable, and something that they would genuinely want to own. Being the first step in our journey towards developing our future approach to electric powertrain technology, the TE-1 prototype and the incredible results it has achieved in its intensive testing programme has provided crucial insights and capabilities that will ultimately guide our future development. Of course, the final production motorcycle will not be exactly what you see here today, but rest assured, the models we do develop will encompass all of its learnings and its exciting dynamic spirit.” Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer, Triumph Motorcycles.

Overall, the key objective of the TE-1 project has always been focused on developing electric motorcycle capability, in order to provide an input into Triumph’s future electric motorcycle offering, driving innovation, capability, and new intellectual property, and enhancing the credibility and profile of British industry and design.

The achievements in the live testing phase, exceeding current benchmarks and targets, provide a platform with great potential for future development in electric motorcycle performance.

“We are incredibly proud to be able to share such positive outcomes from the completion of Project Triumph TE-1, where the prototype demonstrator has exceeded many of our initial targets and expectations. Everyone on the team is thrilled with the results we have achieved with our partners, and how the outcomes of the project will feed into the electric future to come from Triumph.” Nick Bloor, CEO, Triumph Motorcycles.

Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE)

“WAE are delighted to have been involved in this exciting programme to deliver the TE-1 prototype. Since its conception in 2018, all the partners have worked with collaboration, innovation and passion to bring the boundary breaking prototype to life. It is pleasing to hear positive rider comments which confirms that the dynamics of the bike are aligned with Triumph’s DNA. This has been underpinned by the class leading Battery and Control System that WAE has produced within a lightweight and integrated package. This core WAE technology has allowed us to exceed performance and charging targets for the battery which we look forward to seeing in future powertrains.”

Integral Powertrain Ltd.’s E-Drive Division

“We’re delighted to see the final TE-1 motorcycle testing phase completed and with that, further validation of the performance and efficiency of our Scalable Ultra-Integrated Motor and Inverter.

For the TE-1 application, the motor has achieved peak and continuous power densities of 13kW/kg and 9kW/kg respectively; 60% higher than APC technology roadmap targets for 2025. All this has been achieved using materials and processes compatible with volume automotive production and on a length scalable motor platform. The motor scalability concept deployed on TE-1 has provided a springboard for a new scalable motor architecture, to be announced later this year, which will provide similar performance levels but much greater manufacturing scale than previously.

The ultra-integrated inverter concept, also scalable such that the number of Silicon-Carbide power stages increases for larger diameter motors has really delivered on performance (capable of >500kW) and gives us the opportunity to optimise for production or meet much higher power requirements.

We’re really proud to have been a key part of this exciting project which has been a landmark for electric motorcycles and British industry.” Andrew Cross, Chief Technology Manager, Integral Powertrain Ltd.

WMG, University of Warwick

“To meet our ambitious emission reduction targets in the UK we will have to rethink the way we travel, not only transitioning from ICE to electric propulsion vehicles, but also encouraging a modal shift away from private cars.

Electric two wheelers have a pivotal role to play in the transport revolution as a zero tailpipe emission option.

In our partnership with Triumph, WMG used our research experience in electrification to demonstrate manufacturers can deliver products with a lower emission burden as well as outstanding performance-offering customers an EV that is great fun to ride.” Prof. David Greenwood, CEO, WMG centre High Value Manufacturing Catapult, University of Warwick

AIS is partnering the “Joylada” chat novel platform, aiming to use fictional storytelling to educate the young generation about cyber-wellness.

Saichon Submakudom, head of public relations at Advanced Info Services (AIS), said the collaboration is part of “AIS Aunjai Cyber” project, which aims to promote digital literacy among customers, the public at large of all ages, and society.

AIS said, in particular, it is focused on children, as they are most worried about that age group.

In May, Surfshark, a global cybersecurity company, published a study that found Thailand to be the third-worst country in the world in terms of children’s ability to cope with online risks, ranking only ahead of Uruguay and Saudi Arabia. The company suggested that online safety education is vital for children to develop their ability to cope with online cyber-threats.

Saichon said during a press conference on Monday that it was their responsibility to find a creative way to educate young users. Instead of unilaterally choosing the method, AIS asked young people about what is the best way to learn digital skills to detect and deal with cyber-threats. The younger group, then, mentioned “Joylada”.

That led to AIS partnering “Joylada”, Thailand’s leading storytelling chat platform with over 10 million downloads.

The two partners have complementary strengths with know-how and tech from AIS, while storytelling about cyber-threats comes in the form of seven chat novels emphasising seven key skills everyone should know in the cyber age, under the campaign, “Let’s level up our knowledge for digital happiness”.

They both expect to expand educational content to a variety of groups, particularly GenNext, as part of their “Edutainment Strategy” by deploying a distinctive and creative new presentation format.

Saichon stated that the platform aligns with the company’s intention to communicate technical or academic content in exciting new forms and methods known as Edutainment.

For the first time in Thailand, those contents will be transformed into a chat story. It covers cyber-threats and how to deal with them, as well as basic digital skills for Thai people, in seven stories on the Joylada platform.

The seven chat novels reflect seven issues and seven skills for identifying cyber-threats that arise from the use of the internet or online media, which include:

  •  Cyber balance – skills for screen management
  •  Cybersecurity – managing personal cybersecurity
  •  Cyber ability – Up-to-date skills and knowledge
  •  Cyber safety – from online cyber-bullying
  •  Cyber identification – cyber citizen’s ID /
  •  Cyber empathy – cyber manners
  •  Cyber rights – managing privacy
  •  Cyber communication – Online footprint

Sattra Viriyacharoentham, Joylada’s managing director, added that the platform wants its community to be a creative and safe space for its users.

He said the collaboration with AIS will enable the company to leverage its platform’s capabilities while bringing in writers and content creators to join in creating content from the Aunjai cyber course into seven chat novels.

These will illuminate various aspects of cyber-threats, providing readers both entertainment through story content and awareness of how to deal with cyber-threats.

“In the long run, we want our Joylada community to be part of addressing society’s issues, and particularly taking on cyber-threats with our unique capabilities,” said Sattra.

Saichon said AIS will continue to collaborate with partners to bring the necessary know-how and tools to every segment of Thai society through a new standard and a tangible index of skill levels to deal with cyber-threats.

“This process will enable us to deliver our mission of promoting digital literacy sustainably,” Saichon confirmed.
