American actor Anne Heche was taken off life support on Sunday, nine days after suffering severe injuries in a fiery car crash, as a compatible person was found to receive her donated organs, a spokesperson said.

US actor Anne Heche taken off life support 9 days after car crash

Heche, 53, had been legally dead since Friday (August 12), though still with a heartbeat, and was kept on life support to preserve her organs so they could be donated, her representatives said.

“Anne Heche has been peacefully taken off life support,”

spokesperson Holly Baird said in a statement.

Heche’s Mini Cooper sped out of control, plowed into a house and burst into flames on Aug. 5, leading to an agonizing hospital stay with increasingly grave messages from her family and representatives.

On Friday, one of her two sons, 19-year-old Homer Laffoon, issued a statement saying: “My brother Atlas and I lost our Mom.”

Heche, who starred in the movies “Donnie Brasco,” “Wag The Dog” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” struggled for decades with the fallout from a troubled childhood and was part of a groundbreaking same-sex couple in the 1990s.

Winner of a Daytime Emmy Award in 1991 for her roles as identical twin sisters in the NBC soap opera “Another World,” Heche starred in the 1998 adventure comedy “Six Days Seven Nights” with Harrison Ford and played alongside Demi Moore and Cher in the HBO TV movie “If These Walls Could Talk.”

She became one half of Hollywood’s most famous same-sex couple at the time when she dated comedian and actress Ellen DeGeneres. Against the wishes of her studio, Heche came out publicly at the 1997 red carpet premiere for disaster movie “Volcano,” taking DeGeneres along as her date.

The pair were together for more than three years before Heche ended the relationship.

In an interview with Page Six entertainment website in October 2021, Heche said she was “blacklisted” by Hollywood because of her relationship with DeGeneres. “I didn’t do a studio picture for 10 years. I was fired from a $10 million picture deal and did not see the light of day in a studio picture.”

In 2001, she married Coleman Laffoon, a cameraman. After the couple divorced, Heche began a long-term relationship with actor James Tupper which ended in 2018.

Anne Celeste Heche was born in Aurora, Ohio on May 25, 1969, and was the youngest of five children. At age 13, she was shocked by her father’s death from AIDS and from the revelation that he had had secret gay relationships.

Her brother, Nathan, died three months after their father in a car crash.

Heche said her father raped her as a child, causing her mental health struggles for decades after, including frequent fantasies that she was from another planet.

Heche’s mother, Nancy, denied her daughter’s claim that she knew about the sexual abuse, calling it “lies and blasphemies” and her sister Abigail has said she believes the “memories regarding our father are untrue.” She said that Anne Heche had cast doubt herself on her own memories of that time.

Later in her career, Heche starred as a senior member of the Defense Intelligence Agency in the NBC TV series “The Brave” and appeared on competition show “Dancing With The Stars” in late 2020.

Thai digital content gaining increasing recognition around the world

#SootinClaimon.Com : ขอบคุณแหล่งข้อมูล : หนังสือพิมพ์ The Nation.

https://www.nationthailand.com/life/entertainment/40018697

The Thai government is targeting the digital content industry as one of the industries for promotion and expressed its intention to become a digital content hub in Asean.

Thai digital content gaining increasing recognition around the world

“Home Sweet Home”, a horror adventure video game, first released in 2017, is a global hit and continues to provide challenging and petrifying experiences to players in its season 3 in 2021. “Sea of Love”, animation for kids, telling a story of friendship between a whale, a ray, a seahorse and a shark, is streaming on Netflix.  “Girl From Nowhere”, a mystery thriller series that became a hit globally with its second season topping Netflix charts in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, while ranking in the top 10 in Brazil.

These three successful titles have something in common: they are the home-grown creative products of Thailand, a country increasingly making its presence felt in the booming global digital content market.

Thailand’s digital content market is currently valued at US$2 billion, with video games representing the largest share with US$1.46 billion.

The country has long been recognized for the skills of its digital content creators and has become a major provider of outsourcing services for international projects.

The key competitiveness of the Thai digital content industry lies in the skills, discipline and service-mind attitude of its digital artists, its cost-effectiveness, as well as the rich creativity and cultural wisdom the country is known for.

The “Home Sweet Home” video game was created by Thai developer Yggdrazil Group, featuring horror elements drawn from Thai folklore. Its strength lies in its base on Thai culture, myths, and beliefs, said a game critic at COGconnected. The game is available in nine languages including English, German, Chinese and Japanese.

While the game industry is growing at a faster pace, the Thai animation industry has a longer history and is more rooted in the local cultural heritage. Thai animated characters often reflect “Thainess” through the rich colours and cheerful nature.

The first Thai 3D animated feature film “Khan Khluay” (known as The Blue Elephant in the US), produced by Kantana Studio, was released in 2006 and became a box-office success, which has brought international attention to Thailand as a high-quality animation production base.

The Monk Studio’s latest achievement “Sea of Love” is Thailand’s first Netflix Kids series, fulfilling its goal to introduce original content designed and produced by Thai talent for the world.

Thai series in the past decade have expanded to other Asian countries and beyond, partly due to the rise of streaming platforms.

Thai dramas that became hits in other countries include Love Destiny, and My Husband in Law. “Girl from Nowhere” season 2 won the Best Asian TV Series Award at Busan’s Asia Contents Awards in 2021.

Critics expect the popularity of Thai series to continue increasing in the future, thanks to attractive characters, storylines, locations and their reflection of local culture.

Australians were saddened and shocked to wake up to the news that Olivia Newton-John, singer of “I Honestly Love You” and “Physical” and star of the hit movie musical “Grease,” died on Monday at age 73 at her home in Southern California.

British-Born Australian singer Olivia Newton-John dies at 73

The death of the British-born, Australian-raised performer was announced on her Instagram account, saying she “passed away peacefully” at her ranch home “surrounded by family and friends”.

Flowers were left at Olivia Newton-John’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday after it was announced the British-Born Australian singer and actress had died.

One of her most fervent fans, Christine Taylor, 49, from Los Angeles laid flowers next to the star and told Reuters, “For me, it hits hard. When your idols die, it’s just like even a piece of your family too because you grew up with them.”

Another fan, Kira Pettet, 55, from Los Angeles, came out in a ‘Xanadu’ T-shirt and a Newton-John face mask to pay tribute.

Pettet said “She meant… means and meant everything to me, everything concerning her. She just like was always in the back of my mind – it sounds obsessive but her music just took me out of a lot of dark times.”

Others, like Bonnie Alexander, 70, from Calabasas, only learned of Newton-John’s passing by seeing people crowded around the star.

“I had no idea that Olivia Newton-John had passed away until I saw this and everybody here. I’m just totally shocked and very sad,” she said.

Newton-John, a four-time Grammy winner, had disclosed in 2017 that a recurrence of breast cancer had metastasized and spread to her lower back, forcing her to cancel performances. Twenty-five years earlier Newton-John had undergone a partial mastectomy, leading her to become an advocate for breast cancer research and other health issues and to establish a cancer treatment-research facility in Australia.

British-Born Australian singer Olivia Newton-John dies at 73Newton-John, actress and singer was born in Cambridge, England in 1948. When Newton-John was six, her family moved to Melbourne, Australia where she appeared on talent shows and in a telemovie. After winning the prize of a trip to Britain, Newton-John travelled to her county of birth, where she recorded a single and toured nightclubs around Europe as part of a singing duo.

Among the favourites for the 1974 Eurovision Song contest was Britain’s entry of Newton-John with a song called ‘Long Live Love.’ Newton-John finished fourth behind Swedish pop group ABBA who won the competition with the song ‘Waterloo.’

The album released with the ‘Long Live Love’ single, included the hit ‘I Honestly Love You’ which earned Newton-John two Grammy awards with success on both the Adult Contemporary and Country charts.

Olivia Newton-John had her biggest career success with the 1978 film adaptation of the musical ‘Grease,’ which would become one of the most popular musicals in Hollywood history, starring alongside John Travolta as a high school senior.

The popularity of ‘Grease’ has endured since its first release in 1978 with numerous re-releases, and special screenings as a much-loved and classic film.

In 1980, Newton-John appeared in the film ‘Xanadu’ and in 1981 released the song ‘Physical’ shedding the ‘good girl’ image she had in Grease. The song’s accompanying video featured her in workout clothes and a headband, which fuelled a fashion trend. While filming Xanadu, Newton-John met actor Matt Lattanzi who she married in 1984.

In 1986, Newton-John had her first and only child, Chloe Rose Lattanzi. She later divorce Lattanzi in 1995. Before a planned tour in 1992, Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she recovered from but which returned in 2017.

After her first recovery, Olivia Newton-John became an advocate for health issues and breast cancer and built the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Australia’s Melbourne. She also released a cookbook of healthy recipes in 2012.

In 2008, Newton-John married John Easterling and appeared on American Idol and Dancing with the Stars as a judge and in the television series Glee.

Newton-John remained most well-known for her role in ‘Grease’ and reunited with Travolta in 2018 for a special 40th-anniversary screening of the movie. In the same year, Newton-John also revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer for the third time, but later posted a video message on Twitter in 2019 to squash rumours of her ill health. She became an ardent advocate of medical cannabis after being diagnosed with cancer.

The solo track by Lisa of Blackpink went to the top of Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart dated August 6. She became the first female artist to claim the No. 1 spot.

Blackpink’s Lisa 1st female to top Billboard‘s new chart

The tally, powered by Twitter, is a weekly recap of the most popular songs across genres and across the world, ranked by online streaming activity data.

Her first solo single, “Lalisa,” climbed five places to the top spot from the previous week. It also is the only song to stay on the chart since it was launched 41 weeks ago. Another solo song, “Money,” was No. 3 on the chart.

Lisa debuted her solo debut single, hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 at No. 84 and topped iTunes top songs chart in 72 regions when it was released in September last year. The accompanying music video surpassed 500 million views on YouTube in June, a record time for a K-pop female solo act.

BTS’ V amasses 100m views with solo song

The music video for “Winter Bear,” a solo single from V of BTS, reached 100 million views on YouTube, said label Bit Hit Music on Wednesday.

The song was unveiled on the platform in August 2019. V had his hands on every aspect of the song, from producing it to directing the music video. He co-wrote the melody that falls back on acoustic guitar sounds while RM helped him write the lyrics in English.

The artist has released a series of solo songs, including another self-written song, “Sweet Night.” The single has topped the iTunes songs chart in 119 regions, a record for a solo single, making him the youngest musician to do so.

He also sang “Christmas Tree,” a theme song for the drama “Our Beloved Summer.” It was the first Korean original soundtrack song to enter Billboard‘s Hot 100, at No. 79 when it came out on Christmas Eve last year.

TXT sets record streak on Billboard 200

Tomorrow X Together extended its stay on Billboard 200 for an 11th week, the longest streak for a K-pop album on the chart this year.

Its fourth EP, “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child,” debuted at No. 4, a career-high, on the tally dated May 28. For next week‘s chart, it was No. 138.

In the meantime, the five bandmates returned home on Monday, after performing in seven cities in the US for its first international tour, “Act: Love Sick.” The boy band went live in front of its fans in the US for the first time in about three years since its debut showcase, “Star in US.”

Last Tuesday, it took to the stage at Lollapalooza music festival, which was headlined by BTS’ J-Hope.

Kard‘s BM to drop solo single

BM of Kard will put out a solo single on Aug. 9, according to agency DSP Media, on Wednesday.

He will release the digital single “Strangers,” which consists of a title track and “Bad Intentions.” The single comes about six months after the project single “Lost In Euphoria.”

The agency uploaded a new logo for the upcoming project, inspired by a driving wheel, reflecting the mood of the main track – the thrill and tension of being irresistibly attracted to a stranger.

The musician has been releasing a series of solo songs, including “Broken Me,” “13IVI” and “Lie.”

Meanwhile, the four-member act rolled out a fifth EP, “Re:” in June and has been touring Latin America since last week. It will perform in Bogota, Colombia, on Wednesday and in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Friday local time.

The Billboard Twitter Real-Time charts were four interactive Billboard music magazine charts that debuted on May 27, 2014. The charts ranked trending songs from popular and emerging artists based on how often they are mentioned in messages called “tweets” sent by the social networking site Twitter in the United States. The charts “Trending 140”, “Emerging Artists”, “Weekly Top Tracks” and “Weekly Emerging Artists” were reported to define how fans interacted with, and influenced, popular content by ranking the most popular songs being shared on Twitter in the U.S. The first two charts updated on a “real-time” minute-by-minute basis, with the last two charts providing weekly summaries.

In August 2017, for the charts dating September 2, the “Trending 140” and real-time charts were discontinued and the Emerging Artists chart was revised to become a “breakout” of the overall Artist 100 chart, highlighting the top-performing rising acts of each week.[4]

In October 2021, Billboard and Twitter launched two new charts, Hot Trending Songs (“Real Time” – first 24 hours started at noon on October 22, and “Weekly” – first chart release date was October 30), sponsored by Rémy Martin, which track 24-hour and weekly global Twitter trends.

Elvis Presley’s jewellery on auction with Priscilla Presley’s support

A collection of jewellery which Elvis Presley gave to his manager Colonel Tom Parker, which went missing for over 50 years, has been reassembled and is ready for auction.

Elvis Presley's jewellery on auction with Priscilla Presley's support

Two hundred items, including gold rings encrusted with jewels, cufflinks, watches and chains, make up the collection that was brought together by GWS Auctions. The provenance for many of the pieces was provided by Elvis’ former wife, Priscilla.

She told Reuters “This collection, the Colonel’s wife had, Loanne Parker. Loanne Parker passed and a certain person had taken it and kept it away and hid it for a while and we found it and because of that, it’s all laid out and all exposed now.”

Priscilla Presley says that the collection “brings back memories for sure.” The bringing together of the collection was down to Kruse GWS Auction House CEO, Brigitte Kruse.

She said “That’s why I like being with Brigitte here – because she does her homework and she finds out the history and I want people, fans, people who love it, know that it is authentic.”

Although Priscilla Presley is very protective over the collection, she doesn’t own any of it. However, she did design some of the items up for auction. She created the logo for TCB (Taking Care of Business), which was the name of the rhythm band which accompanied Presley in his performances.

There is also a 10-karat diamond TCB ring which Priscilla had designed but hadn’t seen since it was made.

Presley says one reason she is supporting the auction is because she is sick of seeing fake Elvis artifacts being sold.

She said “Elvis, like I said earlier, loved jewellery. I mean, he wore it and he also loved giving it away and all these pieces that he gave to Colonel Parker, gifted him with, just show Elvis’ love of having jewellery. We also have a big collection at Graceland as well, but to repeat myself, with this auction, I just want people to know it’s authentic and not fake and not somebody else’s, not bought and saying that Elvis had it, that this is the real deal.”

The lots, which include the guitar Elvis played during his Comeback Special, go up for auction on August 27.

A Channel 8 actress, who was once called “Miss Garbage” because her parents were garbage collectors, was crowned Miss Thailand Universe 2022 on Saturday night.

From garbage dump to throne: Meet Anna, Thailand’s most beautiful woman

Anna Sueangam-iam, 23, won the title at the pageant of Thailand’s most beautiful women at Iconsiam shopping malls’ True Icon Hall at 8.40pm.

The show started with 29 beauties sashaying on the stage before 18 were voted out and the five most beautiful chosen for the final round.

Eventually, Anna beat her competitors and won the crown, surrounded by runners-up Nicolene Limsnukan, Kanyalak Nookaew, Suchata Chuangsri and Renita Veronica Pagano.

When asked what she would do to boost the morale of people suffering across the world, Anna said: “You’re not the only ones facing despair. I used to be in despair too. We learn from our troubles to adapt and survive. I would call on all of you to have confidence in yourselves and rise to fight again. If I can, so can you.”

From garbage dump to throne: Meet Anna, Thailand’s most beautiful womanDespite winning the crown, Anna came in sixth with just 3.2 per cent of the public votes on the Miss Universe Thailand website. The fourth runner-up Renita led the list with 28.1 per cent and the first runner-up Nicolene came in second with 25.2 per cent.

Though the new Miss Thailand Universe goes by the name “Anna”, she does not have a foreign parent like Renita, Nicolene and several other “favourites”.

From garbage dump to throne: Meet Anna, Thailand’s most beautiful womanIn an interview with Komchadluek Online earlier, Anna said that the general speculation was that she would not win the crown because she is not “luk khrueng” (half Thai).

“Yes, I saw such comments. Some members of my team showed them to me, but I didn’t feel anything. I think I will do my best. I think being luk khrueng or not is not the main criteria to being chosen as Miss Thailand Universe,” she said in response to the speculation.

From garbage dump to throne: Meet Anna, Thailand’s most beautiful womanBorn on November 10, 1998, Anna completed a bachelor’s in arts with honours from Kasetsart University.

Hardship was not unfamiliar to this beauty queen. As a child, she played with toys her parents, who worked as garbage collectors for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, found in the trash.

From garbage dump to throne: Meet Anna, Thailand’s most beautiful womanHowever, her beauty was also recognised in other pageants. In 2018, she was crowned Miss Mobile Thailand 2018 and won the second runners-up title in the 2020 Miss Beautiful Thailand pageant. Yet, she was also dubbed “Miss Garbage” due to her parent’s profession.

Untold stories of Tham Luang cave rescue revealed in Netflix series

#SootinClaimon.Com : ขอบคุณแหล่งข้อมูล : หนังสือพิมพ์ The Nation.

In 2018, 12 boys from the same football team decided to spend an afternoon with their coach exploring the Tham Luang caves in northern Thailand. When heavy rain flooded the caves, what was supposed to be a fun excursion turned into a massive international rescue operation that transfixed the world.

Untold stories of Tham Luang cave rescue revealed in Netflix series

This extraordinary story will soon unfold in “Thai Cave Rescue”, through the untold perspectives of the boys at the centre of the mission.

Netflix has partnered with filmmakers from Thailand and across the world for this new series, which will premiere worldwide on September 22.

Filmed entirely in Thailand, the show features exclusive insights from the young members of the Wild Boars football team, revealing their ordeal at the limit of human endurance, as well as the experiences of their families and the vast international team that came together to save them.

Created by Michael Russell Gunn (“Billions”, “Designated Survivor”) and Dana Ledoux Miller (“Designated Survivor”, “Narcos”), the six-episode limited series is directed by Baz Poonpiriya (“One for the Road”, “Bad Genius”) and Kevin Tancharoen (“The Brothers Sun”, “The Book of Boba Fett”, “Warrior”), who deliver a dramatised retelling of the astonishing rescue that gripped the world in 2018.

“Thai Cave Rescue” features a Thai cast led by Papangkorn “Beam” Lerkchaleampote as Coach Eak, Thaneth “Ek” Warakulnukroh as Chiang Rai governor Narongsak Osottanakorn, and Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund and Manatsanun “Donut” Phanlerdwongsakul as Kelly and Pim — fictional representatives of the real-world hydraulic engineers and park rangers that made the incredible rescue possible. Supakorn “Tok” Kitsuwan also joins the cast as former Navy SEAL diver Saman “Ja Sam” Gunan, while Bloom Varin plays Army doctor Colonel Bhak Loharjun.

Director Baz Poonpiriya said, “Thai Cave Rescue is the first opportunity for audiences worldwide to see the Tham Luang story in a new and more emotional light – centring the perspectives of the 12 Wild Boars, Coach Eak, and heroes like Saman “Ja Sam” Gunan, whose lives beyond the operation remain largely outside the public spotlight. I am very proud to have this opportunity to tell the stories behind the faces and names we have come to know well over the course of this world-famous rescue operation.”

Untold stories of Tham Luang cave rescue revealed in Netflix series

Fellow director Kevin Tancharoen said, “As a Thai-American, I feel so incredibly fortunate to help tell this story through the lens and soul of the Thai people. I wanted to bring my experience of telling big superhero stories to the real world. One where real-life superheroes worked together for a common cause regardless of where they were from, and the only superpowers are the perseverance of the human spirit and what we can accomplish when we work together.”

Writer Michael Russell Gunn said “Thai Cave Rescue” was ultimately a story about family.

“From the boys’ own parents and guardians to thousands of local and international rescuers joining the mission, this was the entire world coming together as one big family. We intended for the show to cover not just the rescue operation but also what the Wild Boars went through inside the cave, and we believe our focus on achieving authenticity – from characters and languages to locations and emotions – will shine through and make an impact on viewers worldwide through Netflix.”

“It became an unlikely source of comfort to tell a story that is such a poignant reminder that even though we are so often defined by our differences – in language, belief, or socio-economic status – hope and resilience of the human spirit are universal. When it comes down to it, we are all at the mercy of nature,” said Miller.

Further underlining the focus on authenticity is the casting of the 12 Wild Boars, who are played by local boys Pratya “Tiger” Patong, Songpol “Pangpon” Kantawong, Chakkapat “Junior” Sisat, Thanawut “Bank” Chetuku, Teeraphat “Gun”‘ Somkaew, Thanaphong “Pluem” Kanthawong, Thanapat “Utha” Phungpumkaew, Aphisit “Fluke” Yookham, Watcharaphol “Kim” Puangsawan, Thapanot “Nam-Ning” Huttapasu, Apisit “Chit” Saengchan, and Rattaphoom “Fluke” Nakeesathid. Filming took place at the homes of the real boys and Tham Luang itself.

As with the real mission, “Thai Cave Rescue” has assembled a cast of international actors to portray key contributors in this rescue, including Nicholas Bell as Vern Unsworth, Nicholas Farnell as John Volanthen, Christopher Stollery as Rick Stanton, Rodger Corser as Dr Richard “Harry” Harris, and Damon Herriman as Dr Craig Challen.
