DHL Express, the leading provider of international express services, has appointed Herbert Vongpusanachai as the next managing director for Thailand and head of Indochina, covering Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

He will be responsible for charting the company’s overall business growth, driving revenue and shipment volume while introducing innovations to improve international logistics experience to customers.

On the appointment, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific Ken Lee:” Herbert’s proven track record in successfully managing countries within the Asia Pacific region for the last 16 years, together with his strong local market experience in Thailand, makes him the ideal person to take over the leadership of DHL Express Thailand. His extended responsibility for the Indochina market allows DHL Express to create a stronger synergy within the region to develop Indochina business and increase market penetration”.

Herbert said: “I am delighted to return to Thailand and am committed to maintain DHL Express’ solid position as a leading international logistics partner for local businesses. I am fully ready to enable business growth for our customers, from SMEs to global and multi-national corporations”.

Herbert started his career at DHL Express as a managing director in Thailand in 2003. Under his leadership, the company achieved business growth and successfully moved its service hub from Don Mueang International Airport to its current location at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

In 2007, his portfolio expanded when he was appointed managing director for Thailand and the Indochina region. He subsequently took on the role of managing director for DHL Express Singapore in 2008.

In 2016, Herbert became managing director of DHL Express Hong Kong and Macau. Under his stewardship, the company grew both in revenue and volume in the B2C and technology sectors, leading to higher standards of productivity and efficiency at the Hong Kong Service Centre and Kowloon West Service Centre, two of the top three DHL Express service centres worldwide in terms of volume handled.

KT ZMICO Securities adds ‘Krungthai’ to new identity

KT ZMICO Securities will change its name to Krungthai Zmico Securities Co Ltd (KTZ) as of January 17, 2020. The new identity will better convey the company’s status as a subsidiary of Krungthai Bank and was approved at the company’s Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGM), held recently.

The company has also received Krungthai Bank’s approval to include its name and logo in the new brand.

It has completed registration of its new identity with the Department of Business Development and Ministry of Commerce.

ML Thongmakut Thongyai, Chief Executive Officer of KT ZMICO Securities Company Limited (KTZ), stated that “The name Krungthai Zmico clearly reflects our strong position as a subsidiary of Krungthai Bank and we believe this competitive-edge would certainly help to maximise our brand awareness and enhance brand credibility”

“The company has engaged in a number of strategic initiatives, for instance, increasing our focus on investment banking and wealth management while continuing to strengthen our core brokerage businesses. The company has also taken measures to build up synergy with Krungthai Group in order to provide exceptional financial solutions for our customers, ” said ML Thongmakut.

Shareholding structure of the company will remain unchanged with Krungthai Bank and Seamico Securities Co maintaining their holdings of 50 per cent and 49.70 per cent respectively.
