Singha Drinking Water has unveiled its all-new “Our Friendship is Magic” label design featuring Doraemon, a timeless and beloved global icon of all ages, on the product label.

The Doraemon image will feature on the labels of the 330-millilitre, 600ml and 750ml drinking water bottles.

Titiporn Thammapimookkul, Chief Marketing Officer – Brand, of Boonrawd Trading Co Ltd explained that the company’s never-ending innovation and product development, along with their understanding of consumer needs and lifestyle, had driven new campaigns that constantly excited the market.

He added that Singha Drinking Water has built a strong customer base through trust in product quality and branding, making it the top drinking water brand among Thai consumers.

“After the success in collaborating with global partners and bringing iconic cartoon characters to our label, we aim to start the year off by working with a household name, a Japanese character who has captured billions of hearts of all ages and sexes – Doraemon – in ‘Our Friendship is Magic’ campaign with the message of long-lasting bonds,” Titiporn said.

The “Our Friendship is Magic” label collection featuring Doraemon comes in three sizes: 330ml (five colours), 600ml which comes in Full Wrap Bottle, and 750ml (12 designs), for all consumers’ needs and just in time for the summer season. Sales will start from Monday until supply lasts.

Please visit LINE @SinghaRewards and Singha Drinking Water Facebook page for more information.

Doraemon was created in 1969 and has since become a multi-generational icon by bringing happiness to people for over 50 years, just like Singha Drinking Water, who have been there with every family whenever they need a boost of hydration and happiness. Thus, the delight is multiplied when these two intersect.

Since its first collection in 2018, Singha Drinking Water has brought global cartoon icons like My Little Pony, the Micky Mouse Collection, which brought over 60 designs of Mickey Mouse and the alphabets for Thais to create their own happiness message, and partnering further with The Walt Disney (Thailand) in the Frozen Collection last year.

Singha Drinking Water dominates the market with an over-20.3 per cent market share from PET bottles, valued at around 28 billion baht and 2.94 million litres in volume. The launch of the new “Doraemon” collection is expected to boost sales by over 10 per cent.

Sasin School of Management, together with SHARGE Management Co Ltd, have installed a charging station at the college to encourage the adoption of sustainable lifestyles through the use of electric vehicles (EV).

Sasin, SHARGE team up to ‘inspire, connect, transform’ for sustainability

“Sustainability and innovation are embedded in Sasin’s DNA. Electric vehicles will make a vital contribution to the sustainability of businesses and lifestyles in Thailand. We know from the experience of other countries that charging stations are the key to the adoption of EVs. These stations, bookable through an app, will not only serve members of the Sasin community but also be available for other users,” Sasin’s director Prof Ian Fenwick said.

“The world is in the midst of an undeniable climate crisis. Unless we transform the way we live our lives and the way we run our businesses, our children and our children’s children will grow up in a very unpleasant world. Not only will electric vehicles have a positive impact on the planet, but they will also usher in all sorts of associated lifestyle changes. Sasin is pleased to nurture the growing demand for EVs in Thailand and the government’s plans to develop the market for cleaner cars.

Sasin, SHARGE team up to ‘inspire, connect, transform’ for sustainability

“This year we are celebrating our 40th anniversary, these EV charging stations at Sasin are visible signs of our focus to ‘inspire.connect.transform for better, smarter, sustainable world’,” Fenwick added.

SHARGE’s managing director Peerapatr Sirichantaropart said: “We set up two high-speed chargers allowing two cars to charge at the same time. Our objective is to provide a charging service to the Sasin and Chula community and to the school’s visitors, to support modern, sustainable lifestyles.

Sasin, SHARGE team up to ‘inspire, connect, transform’ for sustainability

“Customers can book time in advance through the SHARGE app,” he said. “Upon arriving at the charging space, just scan the QR code to check-in and start charging. Customers can pay with debit/credit cards, and get points on their The 1 card. Soon, we will also accept digital tokens. Customers who haven’t yet installed the SHARGE app can also charge their EVs and make cashless payment on the spot.”

He added that SHARGE plans to have as many as 213 stations within 2022. It currently has more than 50 EV stations in the Bangkok CBD area, including at Central Embassy, Central Chidlom, the T77 project, Singha Complex, Bitec Bangna and True Digital Park.

PTG aims for eight core businesses to become world’s ‘megatrends’

CEO Pitak says PT intends to increase profits from its non-oil business to 50 per cent by 2026 and expects oil sales to grow by 8 to 12 per cent

PTG aims for eight core businesses to become world’s ‘megatrends’

PTG’s five-year plan comes with a clear goal to transform its oil and non-oil businesses into co-creation of an ecosystem of sustainable businesses in which customers will have a better quality of life with products and services in PT’s network, CEO Pitak Ratchakitprakarn said in a press release.

The group’s eight main businesses will play an important role in supporting growth. They are:

1. Oil and gas

2. Food and drink

3. Offline to online retail

4. Logistics and supply chain

5. Maintenance

6. Health

7. Digital platforms (financial and lifestyle)

8. Renewable and clean energy.

These businesses will become the world’s “megatrends” and will increase profit from the company’s non-oil business to 50 per cent by 2026, Pitak said.

The CEO said the firm is moving its business to a co-created ecosystem with its partners.

“The company expects to have 268,202 touch points in five years, or 2,694 oil stations and 265,508 non-oil touch points,” he said.

PTG aims for eight core businesses to become world’s ‘megatrends’Pitak explained that the firm has 2,114 oil touch points, both online and offline, and other touch points such as 200,000 “Pa-tour” points of interaction with customers. He expects 60,000 grocery stores and 3,000 coffee shops to join as partners.

The company also expects 10 billion points will be redeemed while the number of members will increase to 30 million, both online and offline. Online members account for 25 per cent presently.

Furthermore, the company intends to also become a digital platform so customers can conveniently use its services.

PT, he said, would connect with other services, including financial, auto insurance and lifestyle.

In the future, the firm aims to expand to foreign countries and might become a global one eventually, according to Pitak.

PTG aims for eight core businesses to become world’s ‘megatrends’

“The company expects to invest 1.5 billion to 2 billion baht yearly on its non-oil business to reach the target. It will add more branches and touch points, including teaming up with partners, jointly investing with other companies, or investing in start-ups, Pitak said.

“Every business will be operated under Max World, in which we currently have 17 million members. Last year, we had 14.5 million and we expect to see 20 million this year,” he said.

Max Ventures is its affiliate in driving middle- and long-term investment by investing in projects such as Nex Pharma and Pavitree. It has also invested in 360Truck, a platform that matches available trucks with employers.

PTG aims for eight core businesses to become world’s ‘megatrends’

“The company looks forward to the growth of these platforms so Max World will be stronger and become an enabler to help other businesses grow,” Pitak said, adding that it would also create new businesses for the firm.

“The company expects its EBITDA to grow by around 15 to 20 per cent this year. It also expects the sale of oil to grow by 8 to 12 per cent from 5.02 billion litres sold at the end of last year. LPG sales are meanwhile expected to see growth of around 50 to 60 per cent,” Pitak believed.

“For the non-oil business, the company is determined to keep adding more branches because it is one of the key drivers. Non-oil revenue is expected to grow 80 to 90 per cent. We feel it will take 3-4 billion baht to add 80 to 100 petrol and gas stations and 1,572 non-oil touch points,” he said.

“PTG has a goal to increase its gross profit proportion of its non-oil business to strengthen the company. PTG’s affiliates will get listed on the stock exchange as planned,” Pitak affirmed.

Amata BGrimm Power, the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry (NREM), the German Embassy and Amata Foundation came together in a ceremony to open the Pha Kluay Mai-Nam Tok Heo Suwat Nature Trail at Khao Yai National Park to celebrate the 160th anniversary of Thai-German friendship.

The opening of the 3.4km nature trail was presided over by General Surayud Chulanont, in his capacity as president of the Statesman Foundation, together with German Ambassador Georg Schmidt, BGrimm chairman Harald Link and Amata Foundation chairman Vikrom Kromadit.

The trail is a tripartite cooperation between the NREM’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, the German Embassy and Amata Foundation, with support from Amata BGrimm Power company.Amata BGrimm Power, German Embassy team up to open beautiful nature trail in Khao Yai

It will educate tourists and enhance their experience of sustainable conservation of natural resources and the environment. It connects two famous waterfalls – Pha Kluai Mai and Heo Suwat – along the route that traverses the Lam Ta Khong creek through bamboo forests interspersed with evergreen and dry forests.

Along the path, visitors can hear the thunderous rumbling of the Pha Kluay Mai Waterfall in the rainy season. But when the water recedes in the dry season, traces of volcanic lava flow, that originated hundreds of millions of years ago, are visible along with the “stone flower”, a new type of plant that emerges from the water. Adding to the overall beauty is the “wai daeng”, whose red flowers bloom in April on the cliff of the waterfall which is named after it.

Link said the opening of the nature walk celebrates Thai-German relations, which dates back to the reign of King Mongkut and became official when King Chulalongkorn visited Europe in 1897 and 1907. His Majesty’s trips marked the start of official diplomatic relations with European countries and strengthened ties between the Siamese court and some of the leading European countries. A Thai pavilion was built in Bad Homburg, Germany, to commemorate His Majesty’s visit.

Today, ties between Thailand and Germany have flourished in various fields including economic, academic and technology transfer, product enhancement promotion, sharing of technology in agriculture and environment, sustainable management of water resources and cooperation to develop neighbouring countries.

In terms of trade relations, the private sector in the early stages witnessed a wide range of trade. BGrimm, for instance, has been operating in Thailand for the past 144 years.

The company started out with a pharmaceutical business before entering into other types of ventures in the fields of industrial, healthcare, lifestyle and transport, with energy becoming its core venture.

All of these businesses have focused on creating benefits for society, the economy and the environment in Thailand, the company said.

Link added that the opening of the trail underscores the importance of natural resource conservation by the two countries. In addition, the cooperation also fulfils BGrimm’s vision of “conducting business with compassion for the development of civilisation in harmony with nature”, by focusing on creating benefits for people and society, placing importance on the environment and wildlife conservation.

Visitors will find the trail easy to complete – in 2-3 hours. Sport shoes or hiking boots are recommended, along with leech socks to protect against leeches in the rainy season. In the cold season, wild elephants forage in the area, so visitors must inform park rangers before going on a hike.

Visitors are also advised to bring along drinking water, a camera, a magnifying glass and a notebook.

Bitec to be venue for major printing and packaging exhibition in October

The “Pack Print International 2022 and Corrutec Asia 2022”, will be held from October 19-22 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre.

Bitec to be venue for major printing and packaging exhibition in October

Messe Düsseldorf Asia has teamed up with the Thai Printing Association, the Thai Packaging Association and the Thai Corrugated Packaging Association to host the event.

This will be a space for cutting edge innovation from three industries in the production of printing and packaging. It will underline Thailand’s potential as a hub for regional trade exhibitions, connecting manufacturers with innovators in printing, packaging and corrugated cardboard to move ahead with their operations after the country has reopened, the organisers said.

Messe Düsseldorf Asia’s managing director, Gernot Ringling, said that the event will showcase innovation and technology to address future manufacturing trends from over 250 leading companies from all over the world.

Each company is ready to show off the latest cutting-edge innovations and technology for the production of printing and packaging. This includes 3D printing technology, a cost-effective innovation for small, medium or large enterprises. There is the technology that is responsible for the environment, in line with government policy to drive the economy under the BCG model. This also covers packaging, which is an industry currently growing strongly, with packaging for the environment, meeting the needs of e-commerce channels, and responsive to healthcare needs during the Covid-19 pandemic, he said.

The event will include space to conduct business negotiations. Experts will also be on hand to provide knowledge about the industry and its innovations and will consult on implementing technology and being prepared for changes. Business operators, designers and manufacturers can try out business operations for themselves with MICE technology, with support from TCEB, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organisation).

Kriengkrai Thiennukul, vice chairman of Industrial Promotion Support, the Federation of Thai Industries, noted that there were currently huge challenges for Thailand and the world economy, with the current pandemic and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Despite all these problems, projections for the Thai economy in 2022 showed a recovery trend with an average growth rate of 3.5 to 4.5 per cent. If Thai industry can boost its capabilities with the application of science, technology, innovation and digital systems, while improving productivity and focusing on developing management skills as well as knowledge about tech and innovation, this can upgrade the Thai industrial sector.

Thai Packaging Association president Manit Kamolsuwan said that designing packaging under policies to control and prevent the spread of infection from Covid-19 could be called “The New Normal for Packaging Design”, which had many components.

The association wanted to introduce new alternatives for sustainability by encouraging packaging for food products made from paper and cards to manage business continuity in the packaging industry and reduce risk from natural threats.

Thai Corrugated Packaging Association president Chusak Deetrakunwattanapoen mentioned that the current rapid growth of the e-commerce sector was going to continue. This year, it was forecast to grow by at least 30 per cent.

Thai Printing Association president Pongthira Pathanapiradej said there were growth opportunities for printing in Thailand. The printing and packaging businesses, in particular, had a total market value in 2021 of between 140 and 150 billion baht, growing 5 per cent in 2020.

Continuous growth had been enabled by growing e-commerce, as consumers have increasingly turned to online channels. Over the last few years, printing volumes for both labels and packaging have clearly increased. Modern printing technology has improved in quality, making many businesses look at printing labels they had designed themselves, and having adaptable labels while including QR codes on corrugated boards and other packaging. He said the Thai commercial printing industry should look at investment in new machinery and digital printers to meet the rapidly increasing needs of the e-commerce market.

Tera Food and Beverage Co Ltd, a market leader in the production of preservative-free health beverages in Thailand, on Thursday launched two new herbal drinks – “QminC Ginger with Honey” and “QminC Finger Root with Honey”.

Boost your immunity and fight inflammation with two new herbal QminC drinks

Tera Food and Beverage Co Ltd, a market leader in the production of preservative-free health beverages in Thailand, on Thursday launched two new herbal drinks – “QminC Ginger with Honey” and “QminC Finger Root with Honey”.

The sugar and preservative-free drinks, sold under the concept “Stop it! Before it couldn’t be stopped”, cost 25 baht each. The brand, represented by Thai superstar Araya Hargate, is targeted at the health-conscious.

Thanthit Yuenyongtechahiran, president of Tera Food & Beverage, said this is the first time that a concentrated ginger drink has been made available in a ready-to-drink bottled form.

“We are responding to health seekers in Thailand with products extracted from natural herbs that are rich in benefits and to the trend of natural functional drinks, which is likely to have a growth of 6.6 per cent a year from 2021 to 2024,” he said.

“We believe the functional drink industry in Thailand will grow in the same direction as the global trend with the Covid-19 pandemic being the main driving force as it makes people aware of the importance of staying healthy thus contributing to the popularity of healthy beverages, particularly herbal health drinks.”

Thanthit said both drinks, QminC Ginger with Honey and QminC Finger Root with Honey, are innovations resulting from hard work in research and development.

“They were only put on the market after we had the confidence that they are beneficial, delicious, easy and healthy to drink with no added preservatives,” he said.

QminC Ginger with Honey is Thailand’s first ginger extract drink in a ready-to-drink bottle and contains 1,000 milligrams of USDA-approved ginger extract imported from the United States.

Boost your immunity and fight inflammation with two new herbal QminC drinks

It also has 100mg of beta-glucan as well as vitamins C, D, E and zinc together with the spicy flavour of ginger and natural sweetness of honey.

Studies have found that the beta-glucan in ginger provides immunity and prevents infections, making it widely recognised for its anti-inflammatory properties.

QminC Finger Root with Honey carries 1,000mg of fingerroot extract (the maximum amount allowed by the Food and Drug Administration) as well as beta-glucan, vitamins C, D, A and zinc.

The company has applied nanoparticle technology in the production of the drink, which makes it refreshing and healthy without leaving behind a bitter taste or odour typical of fingerroot.

Fingerroot is a superfood with pinostrobin, which has been recognised for its anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.

He said the Covid crisis has ushered in a healthy trend and changed the way Thai consumers live their lives and find something to eat as they go fully online.

“QminC has made a substantial investment in online marketing to expand our distribution channels. We also offer a best-for-money promotion, fast and safe delivery. It has led to people buying QminC by the crate, especially among those who have to work or study from home,” he said.

“Our QminC Curcumin has remained our best-seller despite the many lockdowns. It just shows the level of demand and popularity among Thai consumers for herbal, healthy, and functional drinks. This made us confident to roll out the two new flavours as new alternatives for consumers.”

Boost your immunity and fight inflammation with two new herbal QminC drinks
