BlackPink’s Lalisa “Lisa” Manoban has fully recovered from Covid-19 and completed her quarantine period, the band’s managing company announced on Saturday.

YG Entertainment said that Lalisa, the only Thai member of the South Korean pop group, could come out of self-isolation now that she has fully recovered.

Lalisa was diagnosed with Covid-19 nine days ago and was being treated at home.

The company said other members of the band – Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo – did not require quarantine because they had completed their vaccinations one week before Lalisa tested positive. Lalisa had also been double jabbed.

The announcement also said that the group will minimise its outdoor activities and only fulfil scheduled appointments that are unavoidable. They will also strictly adhere to Covid-19 prevention measures.

The three-month-old wild elephant found in Chanthaburi late last month with severe leg injuries is showing positive signs of recovery, a veterinarian said on Saturday.

“Fah Sai”, formerly known as “Kwak Rak”, was found with eight horrific gunshot wounds on her front left thigh and an almost torn off right ankle from a snare one week ago in Chanthaburi’s Khao Sib Ha Chan National Park area.

The unfortunate little creature was then taken to Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Chonburi province on Thursday to be cared for by a veterinarian team from Pattaya’s Nern Plub Wan Animal Hospital.

A veterinarian told reporters on Saturday that the young elephant is gradually recovering and responding well to her caretakers. The veterinarians have built her a temporary foam prosthetic to support her injured ankle, which is being constantly medicated, cleaned and given laser treatment to reduce pain and accelerate tissue regeneration.

The team says that Fah Sai needs to be monitored closely and her blood samples tested regularly to ensure there is no infection.

Booze can be served in Chiang Mai restaurants from Monday

Restaurants in some parts of Chiang Mai will be allowed to serve alcoholic beverages to diners from Monday, provincial governor Prajon Pratsakul said on Saturday.

This restriction is being lifted in a bid to boost tourism during the New Year break.

“Restaurants in Muang, Chom Thong, Doi Tao, Mae Taeng and Mae Rim districts will be allowed to serve alcoholic drinks from 11am to 2pm, and from 5pm to 11pm,” he said. “Live music will also be allowed, provided bands have no more than five members.”

However, musicians are not allowed to get close to diners and are prohibited from sitting or dancing with the customers.

On-stage dance shows are also prohibited.

“Eligible restaurants must employ the Covid-free setting standard and pass an evaluation by Provincial Communicable Disease Committee. The committee will then publish a list of certified establishments for customers to choose the safest option,” the governor said.

“Pubs, bars, karaoke joints and massage parlours will remain closed until further notice,” he added.

Slow down on reopening Thailand, advises Chulalongkorn professor

#SootinClaimon.Com : ขอบคุณแหล่งข้อมูล : หนังสือพิมพ์ The Nation.

https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40009614

In a Facebook post on Friday, Assoc Prof Dr Thira Woratanarat from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Medicine advised the government to hold off on fully reopening the country.

He cited comments made by Dr Takeshi Kasai, the World Health Organisation’s regional director for the Western Pacific, who warned countries in Asia to get ready for the Omicron variant.

Since it was detected in South Africa on November 24, Omicron has spread quickly in many parts of the world, from Africa to Europe, North and South America, Oceania and Asia.

Thira also pointed out that many countries near Thailand like Hong Kong, Japan, India, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia have reported Omicron cases.

The professor went on to say that all sectors, ranging from education to business, trade and service, need to adapt to the new changes, adding that there is no way everything will return to normal soon as many parties claim.

Thira also said that the administering of vaccines should be efficient and up to international standards and that the government should make RT-PCR tests free nationwide.
