Vintage, retro and sports cars will be lining up in Buri Ram’s Chang International Circuit for petrolheads to drool over next week.
The two-day Chang Classic Car Revival 2022, which kicks off next Saturday, will also include several activities including the Chang Classic Revival Parade, best lap, drag race, drag battle and gymkhana.
Tanaisiri Chanwittayarom, the circuit’s managing director, said this festival is being held for a second time after it proved to be a huge success last year.
The event was created to bring vintage car lovers together. They will also parade their beauties up and down the streets of Buri Ram before the event kicks off on Saturday for people to take photographs.

Kylian Mbappe scored a second-half double as France became the first team to book their spot in the World Cup knockout stage on Saturday (November 26) by defeating a feisty Danish team 2-1 in a tense encounter.
After a goalless first half in which the defending champions dominated but failed to convert, defender Theo Hernandez linked up with the electric Mbappe, whose shot deflected off the heal of Andreas Christensen and into the back of the net to give France the lead in the 61st minute.
Denmark levelled seven minutes later, with Christensen making up for the deflection by blasting a powerful header past distraught French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Mbappe finished the job in the 86th minute, converting on a cross from Antoine Griezmann and propelling the ball into the back of the net with his thigh.
France top Group D with six points, three ahead of Australia, who beat Tunisia 1-0 earlier in the day, with the Danes and the Tunisians both on one point.
France take on Tunisia and Denmark meet Socceroos in the final round.
Lionel Messi thumped in a 64th minute goal and Enzo Fernandez added another late in the game to give Argentina a 2-0 victory over battling Mexico in their World Cup Group C match on Saturday (November 26) and reignite their tournament hopes.
Messi, who equalled Diego Maradona’s Argentina record of 21 World Cup matches, was nowhere to be seen for more than an hour before picking up an Angel Di Maria pass, finding just enough space and rifling in with his left foot from 20 metres.
Substitute Fernandez made sure of the three points when he curled a superb shot into the top corner in the 87th minute.
The result restored order for the Argentines in Group C after their shock opening 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia.
Argentina, on three points, can guarantee progress with a win over Poland, top on four, in their final game on Wednesday.
Mexico, who have now lost all four World Cup clashes with Argentina, have one point and must beat Saudi Arabia, on three, to have any chance of continuing their run of making the last 16 in the last seven World Cups, but even that might not be enough.
With the prospect of an Argentina elimination, tensions were high on and off the ball in a scrappy first half but with the two sets of fans creating an electric atmosphere in the stadium.

The opening period did not live up to the match’s billing with neither team wanting to commit too many players forward and apart from a free kick by Mexico’s Luis Chavez in the ninth minute that sailed past the goalmouth, there were few chances.
Mexico’s high pressing game stifled most of their opponents’ attack and Argentine talisman Messi, struggled to find any space to manoeuvre in a congested midfield.
Apart from a Lautaro Martinez effort that was well off the mark and another from Messi, Argentina were toothless up front.
But in a major blow to Mexico, skipper Andres Guardado, a veteran of five World Cups who until then had been a commanding presence in midfield, had to be taken off injured in the 42nd.

Thais following the World Cup online are mainly interested in three topics – players/teams, broadcasting rights, and private sponsorship deals – according to Wisesight.
The internet analyst tracked how Thailand-based fans followed the tournament in Qatar from October 1 to November 20.
That period saw a total of 148,137 World Cup-related messages in Thailand, generating a whopping 23.6 million engagements (likes, etc), or an average of 463,157 per day.
Facebook was Thais’ favourite method of following the tournament, with 75.87% of engagements.
Next came Twitter with 12.12%, YouTube (5.48%), and other platforms (6.53%).
The tournament has also revealed a huge gender gap. It is far more popular with male internet users, who posted 76.25% of World Cup-related messages compared with just 23.75% by females.
Online discussion was also dominated by youngsters, with people aged 18-24 generating more than half (51.1%) of World Cup engagements, followed by the 25-34 age group (35.61%).
Wisesight also ranked the top five World Cup topics online in Thailand:
1. Player/team news with 9,048,261 engagements
Most netizens were interested in individual players and also team updates.
2. Broadcasting rights (3,227,988)
Online interest soared when Thailand finally paid over 1 billion baht for World Cup broadcasting rights after last-minute negotiations with Fifa. Most Thai netizens agreed the rights were too expensive and said the government should have used the money for other things.
3. Request for private sector money to buy the broadcast rights (1,978,426)
The government was forced to seek 600 million baht from private firms – mainly True Corp, ThaiBev, and PTT – after failing to gather 1.2 billion baht needed to buy the rights under its “must-have” free broadcasts rule.
4. Jungkook BTS (1,238,617)
The K-pop star lit up Thailand’s internet when he performed at the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup on November 20.

The sleek and powerful ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 is a perfect companion for people on the go. With a body made of carbon fibre and magnesium, the 14-inch notebook weighs a mere 1.2 kilos, while its powerful battery keeps it going for up to 13 hours and its 12th Gen Intel Core processor makes it a swift powerhouse.
Lenovo released the 10th generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon notebook to mark the 30th anniversary of the first ThinkPad launched by IBM.
To mark its 30th anniversary, Lenovo is releasing 30 limited editions of the notebook with a special black carbon fibre woven cover in Thailand.
The special edition includes the classic ThinkPad logo in red, green and blue and has the words 30th Anniversary Edition etched just below the keyboard. Commemorative serial numbers are also engraved on the right hinge cap, starting from 0001.
IBM launched the first ThinkPad 700C in 1992, and in 2005, Lenovo acquired IBM’s personal computer division. It then made the ThinkPad series famous with the launch of the first generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon in 2012 and a special edition of the X1 Carbon 20th Anniversary Edition.
This year, the X1 Carbon is in its 10th generation – not to be confused with the 12th generation Intel Core processor.
Though I was not lucky enough to try the limited edition, I did get my hands on the standard ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 notebook.
The X1 Carbon Gen 10 notebook I tried was powered by the fast 12th-generation Intel Core i7 1260P processor. It is equipped with plenty of working memory of up to 16 gigabytes of RAM (random access memory) of the latest fast DDR5 type. The processor has 12 cores – four for performance and eight for efficiency, as well as 16 threads or virtual cores to make multi-tasking speedy.
During the test, I found that the X1 Carbon Gen 10 notebook started up and shut down instantly, and ran business applications like LibreOffice fast and smoothly. The notebook runs on Microsoft Windows 10 Pro operating system.
I used the Novabench application to benchmark the notebook and got a good score of 2,902 points – 1,895 points for CPU, 284 points for RAM, 451 points for GPU and 272 points for Disk.
Novabench reported that the X1 Carbon Gen 10’s overall score is 15% better than a mid-level gaming PC of 2021, and its CPU score is 90% better, but its GPU (graphic processing unit) is 55% lower.
However, if compared to a budget laptop released last year, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10’s scores are 151% higher overall, 177% more for CPU and 126% more for GPU.
The keyboard is also large and comfortable for typing, plus it comes with a good quality full-high definition webcam and four 360-degree microphones built on the top of the screen and both sides of the webcam. The mics use integrated AI-based noise cancellation and Dolby Voice for clarity during video conferencing.
The body of the notepad has been designed so it doesn’t get too hot. The ThinkPad keyboard is designed to take in air, while the two fans and rear ventilation ensure the X1 Carbon Gen 10 can be used for long hours without getting overheated.
The display is bright and beautiful with a 2,240×1,400 pixel resolution and 300 nits brightness. This means it is great for TikTok clips and movies.
The notebook also comes with a fingerprint reader integrated with its power button, which offers better security.
Despite its thin and sleek look, the X1 Carbon Gen 10 is also tough as it meets the US Department of Defence’s MIL-STD 810H standards. After having passed 12 standard tests and over 200 quality checks, it has proved it can run in extreme conditions.
The notebook comes with all the necessary ports. It has two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port and HDMI 2.0b. The first Thunderbolt port is used for recharging the battery as well, while the other can be used for expansion, such as connecting to an external monitor or an expansion dock. The right-hand side also has a headphone/mic combo port.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 starts off at 56,000 baht depending on the CPU model, amount of RAM and storage capacity as well as other customisable options. The 30th-anniversary edition has a suggested retail price of 108,490 baht.

Bangkok still No 1 for foreign condo buyers, Phuket overtakes Chiang Mai

Bangkok remains the top choice for foreigners buying condominiums in Thailand, according to property firm Knight Frank Thailand.
Managing director Nattha Kahapana said the Covid-19 pandemic had not affected Bangkok’s status as No 1 among foreign buyers – but Chiang Mai has fallen in the rankings.
The top 10 provinces for foreigners buying condominiums before the pandemic were:
1. Bangkok
2. Chonburi
3. Chiang Mai
4. Phuket
5. Samut Prakan
6. Prachuap Khiri Khan
7. Nonthaburi
8. Rayong
9. Pathum Thani
10. Chiang Rai
However, Phuket and Samut Prakan have now leapfrogged Chiang Mai to become the third and fourth favourite places for foreign condo buyers, Nattha said.
The top 10 provinces for foreign condo buyers now are:
1. Bangkok
2. Chonburi
3. Phuket
4. Samut Prakan
5. Chiang Mai
6. Prachuap Khiri Khan
7. Pathum Thani
8. Phetchaburi

The top buyers since 2018 are Chinese nationals, followed by Russians, Americans, Britons and Germans, Nattha revealed.
He said the four most popular locations in Bangkok for foreign condo buyers are Sukhumvit, Phrom Phong, Thong Lor and Ekkamai. Most buyers here were from Japan, the European Union, Britain or the US.
Nana and Asok remain popular with Middle East buyers while Ratchadapisek, Huay Kwang and Phraram 9 are preferred by Chinese and South Korean condo buyers, Nattha said.
Silom is preferred by EU citizens, Australians and Singaporeans.
A total of 48,743 condominium units were sold to foreign buyers from 2018 to September 2022, Knight Frank said.
The Parents: Bangkok’s hub for elderly care to be ready in 2024

“The Parents”, a healthcare hub for the elderly, should be completely ready by the second quarter of 2024, the project operator Techno Medical (TM) said.
Soonthree Chanlongbutra, TM’s CEO, said The Parents is being built on a 4-rai (0.64 hectares) plot in Bangkok’s Saphan Sung district and comprises three parts:
• Nursing School: Set up in May this year, the school aims to produce nurses for hospitals and elderly care centres. The nurses will also be trained to take care of the elderly at their homes.
• Nursing Home: Opened on November 5, the nursing home provides care for seniors with special needs. It also provides seniors with a chance to socialise.
• Hospital: The hospital focuses on treating and rehabilitating patients, ranging from the disabled to pregnant women. It is expected to be opened in the second quarter of 2024.
“Once the entire project is completed, it will become a healthcare hub for senior citizens in the East of Bangkok,” she said, adding that TM plans to provide elderly care services across the capital.
She said the business of elderly care is expected to grow further as Thailand is an ageing society, adding that TM is also expanding its reach online via Facebook and YouTube. In addition, she said, the company is providing medical supplies via online vendors like Lazada and Shopee.
Soonthree added that TM is waiting for an okay from the Thai Food and Drug Administration to sell food supplements under the “TM Herb” brand, adding that the company was ready to launch this business as soon as it gets permission.
“We believe this expansion will help the company grow significantly,” she said.
Channel 3 operator targets THB5bn profit next year from new film studio

The operator of Channel 3 on Saturday unveiled its plan to generate 5 billion baht in profit next year by becoming a giant content provider.
BEC World will invest 2 billion baht to create 30 items of original content per year, especially dramas.
“All dramas will also have English names to penetrate the international market,” said BEC World vice president Piriyadit Choophungart and assistant vice president Panugorn Puengpradit. The content will include films.
The operator will showcase its new creations in the “Asia TV Forum & Market”, the biggest media content market in Asia, they added.
Piriyadit and Panugorn said BEC Studios, which was established in June this year to create content and address problems of filming abroad, will recruit more employees to support production of 10 items of original content per year.
“BEC Studios has reduced production time and costs in the long term as we don’t have to film overseas,” they said.
BEC World has launched film and music operations as well as an integrated marketing communication business in a bid to reduce reliance on TV revenue and become a content provider, the executives added.
The company said it will produce three to five films next year. It expects revenue from the film “Bua Pan Fun Yap”, a collaboration between BEC World and Major Cineplex Group, to start flowing in 2023.
Channel 3’s revenue from January to September this year was 3.89 billion baht, down 5% year on year. The channel’s net profit during the first nine months was 458.2 million baht, down from 466.4 million baht in the same period last year.
The decline in revenue and profit was due to a drop in purchasing power and advertising revenue amid the economic slowdown.
