Krungthai to discontinue KTB netbank from 1 Jan 23

Krungthai Bank announced that its internet banking service, KTB netbank, will be discontinued from 1 January 2023. This is due to substantial decrease in the number of users as many of them have switched to Krungthai NEXT mobile banking application.
Krungthai NEXT has been developed to be a one-stop service mobile application that will empower better life through easier, faster, and more secure banking. With Krungthai NEXT, the bank aims to respond to all financial needs of people of all lifestyles and improve the efficiency and variety of services offered to all groups of customers on smartphones, which is in alignment with Thailand 4.0 aspiration and contributes to driving all sectors toward becoming a cashless society.
Krungthai NEXT provides better user experience with handy features. For example, users can register with face authentication by scanning their faces and ID cards to verify their identities, they no longer have to remember usernames and passwords, and they can change the mobile phone number or email address for receiving OTP in the app without having to visit a branch.
With a comprehensive range of services including money transfer, top-up, payment, loan application, notification, and scheduled transactions up to 24 months in advance, Krungthai NEXT is highly popular and is now serving over 16 million users.

Quang Ninh, home to more than 20 ethnic minority groups, is well-known among tourists not only for its magnificent natural scenery but also for its distinct local cultures.
This year, provincial authorities have organised a variety of activities aimed at boosting tourism and improving the accessibility of tourism products tied to ethnic cultures.
Many traditional festivities, such as the harvest ceremony, the San Chi ethnic costume show and women’s football tournament, as well as the running race for locals and tourists, were some of the highlights of this year’s “San Chi Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival” which took place in October and made a lasting impression on the attendees of the event.
The event returns after a two-year hiatus to promote the beauty of the land and people of Quang Ninh, in addition to the province’s well-known coastal culture.

Argentina advanced to the knockout stages of the World Cup with a 2-0 victory over Poland in their final Group C match on Wednesday (November 30), even though skipper Lionel Messi saw a first half penalty saved at Stadium 974.
Argentina’s victory moved the South American side to the top of the group and they will face Australia in the last-16 while second-placed Poland will take on reigning champions France.
Argentina took the lead just one minute into the second half when Alexis Mac Allister got on the end of Nahuel Molina’s cross and, despite making weak contact, he saw his shot creep over the line with Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny beaten.
The goal was a just reward for Argentina who had dominated possession while Poland barely managed to get out of their own half.
The second goal was the result of some patient buildup where Argentina knocked the ball around before Enzo Fernandez unlocked the defence with a through-ball for Julian Alvarez, who found space in the box and smashed it into the top corner.
Earlier, Poland was up in arms when Argentina was awarded a controversial penalty after a VAR check for a foul on Messi when Szczesny’s glove brushed his face as the Paris St Germain forward rose up for a header at the far post.

But Szczesny was up to the task and despite the thousands of Argentina fans raising the decibel levels inside the arena, he kept his composure and guessed correctly, diving to his left and using one hand to swat aside Messi’s effort from the spot.
Szczesny had been kept busy the entire half with the Poland defence breached time and again but the Juventus keeper stood firm to deny the Argentines who grew more confident with every attack.
He first denied Alvarez when the Manchester City forward broke through the offside trap before he tipped Angel Di Maria’s cross over the bar when his Juve teammate attempted to score directly from a corner kick.

Canon Thailand has trained its sights on the hybrid office market to keep up with the changing nature of work post-Covid.
The Japanese multinational unveiled its new cutting-edge hardware and software technology at Thailand Smart City Expo 2022 in Bangkok on Wednesday.
Pongsaporn Krobsanit, a senior manager at Canon Marketing (Thailand), explained that the company established a new business development team in 2019 after realising demand for its core products – cameras and printers – would drop in the future work environment.
That decision proved timely when Covid-19 arrived, sparking massive digital transformation in the business world. Canon was on hand with solutions to keep organisations running as the virus raged, Pongsaporn said.
“This reassured us that we were on the right track. And once these businesses transform, they do not revert to their pre-pandemic working methods. Their offices remain hybrid and adaptable,” he added.
Canon will focus on smart solutions beginning next year. The company will offer a comprehensive service that includes hardware, software, and maintenance.
“We will continue to innovate in order to alleviate our customers’ pain points while also closely monitoring after-sales service. This is the key to retaining customers, and we retain 80% of them,” he said.
He said Canon’s technologies also have an important role in the future development of smart cities. Thailand is seen as a market with high growth potential in this field.
Among the armoury of smart solutions Canon unveiled at the Bangkok expo were a face recognition and people counting system, audio and video threat detection, access control, AI-driven video analytics, recording and video management systems (VMS), smart cloud printing and scanning, barcode reading, smart live streaming and remote production software.
